It comes with a complete set of light presets for daylight, dawn and night, and a few camera presets to bring you to the different zones of the city. There complete city is made up out of 7 presets: the groundplane, a tram overhead lines prop, and 5 "zone" prests with all the buildings, landposts, trees, traffic lights etc. This makes it very easy to setup a scene, just load the groundplane and zone that will be in view of the camera, then a nice sunlight preset and you're basically done. All the items (buildings, landposts, traffic lights, trees etc.) in the city are repositionable and they are all included as separate items too, so you can build your own city or use them in other scenes. ................................................................................................ The following items are included. In the "characters" library: -Ground plane This is the street and pavement, the "body" part contains dials to open the carpark gate. -Center Zone This preset contains all the buildings, trees, lampposts, traffic lights etc. to fill the center zone of the scene. The "body" part of the buildings contain dials to open the doors. -East Zone " " -North Zone " " -South Zone " " -West Zone " " And there is a folder called "Separate items" it contains the buildings in the zero position. -Building 1 -Building 2 -Building 3 -Building 4 -Building 5 -Building 6 -Car dealership -Car park -Garbage container ................................................................................................ In the "light" library: There is a nice set of light presets included, all in 3 different quality settings. -Moonlight There is a moonlight and a blue shadow light to simulate night. -Streetlights for the 5 zones They load in top of the lampposts to simulate the street lights, use these together with the moonlight, to add them to an existing light, click the "double check" icon -Sunlight morning A white light with a light blue shadow to simulate a cold morning or day. -Sunlight A light yellow light with a light blue shadow to simulate midday sunlight. -Sunlight afternoon A light orange light with darker blue shadows to simulate afternoon sun. -Sunlight evening An orange light with dark blue shadows to simulate dusk sunlight. The angle of the sun or moon can be adjusted to your preference, use the shadow light to fill the shadow side of your scene. Tip: Use the afternoon and evening sun to create nice long shadows to give your renders more depth and contrast. -Standard quality Normal point and infinite lights, sharp shadows and fast renders -High quality With realistic shadow blur, nice soft shadows but longer render times -Extra high quality With realistic shadow blur and ambient occlusion for small shadows around the edges of geometry, very realistic but long render times. This option uses a lot of RAM memory, especially while rendering a characters hair. -Don't use the extra high quality option if you render with "indirect light" because it won't work with together with ambient occlusion. ................................................................................................ In the "materials" library: The option to change the traffic lights: -For traffic/vehicles green/yellow/red -For pedestrians green/red -For trams go/stop ................................................................................................ In the "camera" library: Camera presets that position a wide ange dolly camera in the 5 zones: -Center zone -East Zone -North Zone -South Zone -West Zone ................................................................................................ Useful tips: -Please make sure to have "use displacement maps" checked on in the render settings panel, some items make use of displacement maps. -This scene is not suitable for polygon smoothing -The easiest camera to use and navigate in these sort of scenes is the dolly camera -Make sure the standard poser groundplane is hidden before rendering, it ubscures the street. -The 5 parts of the city are separate items, so you only have to load the part that's in view of your camera. -Pay attention to the lights in your scene, they are very important. Play with the angle of the sun, and point the shadow light at the shadow side of your scene. -The DepthCue option (in materials->atmosphere) gives a nice atmosphere and depth effect in your renders and it uses way less RAM then atmospheric volume. -And a personal advise: choose quality over quantity. And yes, rendering at the highest quality setting can take hours, but your final render will look so much better! ................................................................................................
