Product Description: ------------------------------------- Custom morphs and textures to turn Dinoraul's KannemeyeriaDR into Placerias. Two versions of the dinosaur are included: one with and one without poser dynamic hair. Look At My Hair (LAMH) presets are included for DAZ Studio users to create the hairy Placerias in DS. Look At My Hair or Look At My Hair Reader free plugin is required (www.daz3d.com/look-at-my-hair-free-player). ------------------------------------- 4. System Requirements: ------------------------------------- PC or MAC, Poser 8 and above, DAZ Studio 4.6., Look At My Hair Reader plugin (free). NOTE: Poser dynamic hair can use extensive system resources and may not be compatible with older/less powerful machines. Requires that you have purchased and installed Dinoraul's KannemeyeriaDR (http://www.rederosity.com/mod/bcs/kannemeyeriadr/92173) ------------------------------------- GENERAL USAGE TIPS: ALL USERS: Placerias loads directly from the Figures library. After installation, you do not need to load Dinoraul's Kannemeyeria into the scene first. Simply choose the Placerias you want from the Species folder in your figure library and click to load. The morphs, textures and (if using the hairy versions) hair are already loaded/injected. POSER USERS: DYNAMIC HAIR NOTES: We've designed these figures to be easy to use even if you're inexperienced with Poser dynamic hair. Basically, you can just load the figure, pose and render, and get high quality results. That said,if you're new or inexperienced with Poser dynamic hair,there's a couple things you should be aware of. Poser dynamic hair can be extremely intensive on system resources and may not be compatible with older/less powerful machines. If this is your first time using a figure with dynamic hair, you may want to consult the Poser user manual or some of the tutorials available in the Renderosity Marketplace forum or around the web to get a better understanding of working with dynamic hair. When you load the hairy figure, the hairs that you will see are guide hairs, and do not show up with the final density or thickness with which they will appear when rendered. Render the scene to see the full density and look of the hair. Lighting can significantly impact both the look of the dynamic hair materials and the render time. If you are using IBL lights and/orIDL render settings, expect higher render times. If you are experienced with using the Poser Hair room, or just want to experiment, you may achieve some interesting and more realistic results by applying Poser physics to the hair. To do this: - Load the hairy figure - Pose the figure (it's recommended that you finalize the pose before applying the physics) - Go into the Hair room - Click on one of the hair groups, and then click "Calculate Dynamics" in the DynamicsControl pane. You will see the hair follicles for that group react to the pose and the physical environment. Note that you will need to calculate dynamics for each hair group. Calculating dynamics may not always provide desired results. We've done our best with the hair styling to make it look natural without applying physics/dynamics. ------------------------------------ DAZ STUDIO USERS: DS users will not be able to use the hairy version of the figure, as Poser dynamic hair does not work in DS. In order to achieve the hairy look, you will need to load the un-haired version, and apply the provided LAMH presets using Look At My Hair plugin from DAZ3d.com (a free version, Look At My Hair Free Reader is available at DAZ) To install the LAMH preset, unzip the LAMH.zip folder to your LAMH presets folder (by default, this is under MyDocuments/Daz3d/Studio/Lookatmyhairam/presets) Following are suggested DAZ studio material settings for the Placerias figure(big thanks to Phil Brownlow for testing and providing us with these): - Set lighting model to matt ( or skin can work too): DAZ defaults to plastic which makes everything to shinny. - Set defuse colour to white to get the full colour of the map or a tint can work to make subtle colour variations. - In specular - Set glossiness to 100% .If you want a bit of shine on the horns etc you can play with this setting and the specularity settings. - Displacement: It can also look better to put the bump map into the displacement channel and remove it from the bump channel: Use these settings on the displacement: - Skin: Displacement Strength:  100%?Minimum displacement: -0.50?Minimum displacement: -0.50 A good way to check on your displacement map is to temporarily remove the colour map from the diffuse channel and render the scene. This will show how the displacement is working and you can decide if you need more or less. You can of course experiment with these but this is a good starting point to get the details showing well. ------------------------------------- VUE IMPORT: Vue handles materials very differently than Poser. The following are suggested guidelines. You may need to alter these to suit your own tastes or your scenes lighting: After importing the scene, enter the material editor and make sure you are in the Advanced Material Editor. Suggested Bump setting is .015 for skin, and .008 for all other materials. In the Highlights tab, take both Highlight global intensity and Highlight global size down to 0 (you may want to add a little highlight back into the teeth, mouth and tongue). In the Eye or, if it exists, Eye Lens material, change the Highlight global size and Highlight global intensity both to 80%. Poser dynamic hair does not import well to Vue and will require extensive experimenting with the hair's material settings within Vue to achieve a realistic look (and may not be possible at all) LAMH does import to Vue and a more realistic look can be achieved. For instructions on Vue import, please consult the LAMH documentation. Another tip to make your model stand out in a Vue scene is to add a quadratic spot light on the model. If you do this, enter the Spotlight Editor (right click on the spotlight and choose Edit Object, or just double click on it). In the Influence tab, under Objects influenced by light, first click None, and the Only objects marked below… then check the model(s) you want highlighted. Finally, in the Quadratic spot material settings, change the softness to 8. You may need to adjust some or all of these settings, but they should get you started. ------------------------------------- 5.
