********************************************************************** *Product Name: Mirror Room II *Copyright November 2014 *By: kawecki *Contact: Renderosity's site mail ********************************************************************** Mirror Room II This package includes the following items: - 1 Room Prop (pp2 + obj). - All textures used (jpg). -------- Detailed Installation Instructions Extract the zip-archive with your zip program: - Open WinZip and press the button -Extract- - In the window -Folders/drives-, select the folder that contain your Poser program. (ex. c:\program files\Poser4\ ). - The check box -Use Folder names- must be marked. That way, all files will placed in the correct path. --------------- WHERE ARE THE FILES LOCATED Figures: ...\runtime\libraries\props\RkDungeon\ MirrorRoom II.pp2 MirrorRoom II.png Geometries: ...\runtime\geometries\RkDungeon\ MirrorRoom2.obj Textures: ...\runtime\textures\RkDungeon\ kawecki_mosaic28.jpg kawecki_wood527.jpg ------- ------- INSTRUCTIONS ---------- 1)- SHADOWS If you use shadows for every light casting shadows you must set to "Ray Trace Shadows". Do not use shadow maps ! 2)- RENDER SETTINGS - Enable "Remove Backfacing Polys" This will avoid walls obstructing the camera in some camera positions. - Enable "Raytracing" - Set "Raytrace Bounces" to 6 - 12 or more. More bounces produce more mirror reflections, but turn the rendering more slower. 3)- EXTRA REFLECTIONS (MATERIAL ROOM) The Mirror Room II has a "refraction plane" that adds more reflections to the rendered image. In the "Material Room" look at the "refract" material of the MirrorRoom2 prop. It has the refraction index set to 4.5 by default. Changing this value the extra reflections change its positions. With the refraction index set to 1.0 the extra reflections vanishes remaining only normal reflections. I should like Poser would be able to use negative refraction indexes !!!! 4)- POSER PRO 2014 PROBLEM Poser Pro 2014 has a problem with refractive materials. The refraction only works with direct rays, but doesn't bend rays reflected from a mirror. With Poser 6 to Poser Pro 2012 it works fine without any problem. If you are using Poser 2014 you will not be able to take full advantage of the "refraction plane". If you don't like the rendering results, turn the refraction index to 1.0 and so, you will have only normal mirror reflections. Or set it transparent. 5)- LIGHT EFFECTS (MATERIAL ROOM) The light bouncing forth and back from the mirrors if find nothing to reflect it will render back at the end. You can change the black color to other color. In the "Material Room" in the material "mirror" in the "reflect" shader set the "background" color to the color you wish. You also can create a "foggy" look to the mirror changing the "specular_value" of the "mirror" material to a value between 0.0 and 1.0. The effect will depend on the amount of light hitting the mirrors. 6)- SAMPLE SCENE POSITIONs In the first promo image I used this settings: CAMERA x = 0 y = 0.36 z = 1.27 xrot = yrot = zrot = 0 Focal = 38 mm PERSONAGE x = -0.310 y = 0 z = 0 ------------------ ---- ------------------- All of this products content was created by Ricardo Kawecki.
