LSM (Landing Ship Medium) Copyright (c) 2014 Alice Fedrizzi (AliceFromLake). KNOWLEGDE: Landing Ship Medium were amphibious assault ships of the United States Navy in the World War II. Of comparable size to Landing Ship, Tank and the Landing Craft, Infantry, there were 558 LSM (Landing Ship, Medium) made for the USN between 1944 and 1945. The majority of vessels built on this versatile frame were regular transports however there were several dozen that were converted during construction for specialized roles. Most vessels of this type were scrapped during the Cold War, but several were sold by the United States Department of Defense to foreign nations or private shipping companies. The preview pictures are made with Cinema4D. USAGE: Included is a detailed model with two aditional files for bow elements with closed or open ramp and bow doors. The model consists of 320700 polygons and 38 objects. The model is included in Collada and OBJ format. Collada is supported by all modern rendering programs. In Collada all the groupings and turning axis are preserved on their places, so I recommend to use the Collada file if your program supports it. In OBJ format there are no groupings and all axis are in 0/0/0. In OBJ you have to put all the axis in the middle of the turning points by yourself. For OBJ there are two additional files for the ramp and bow doors. One for the bow doors and ramp closed and one for the ramp and bow doors open for landing operation. I did it so because in Poser you can import the files separately. For all other user who import the Collada file, please switch on or off (or delete) the desired parts. There are some non-UV-map materials, for glass and the mirror of the search lights. Please adjust the colors and parameters in your program. The deck is detached from the model, so you can apply a high res texture yourself for close ups. Please adjust the phong settings of your rendering program. In Cinema4D I use 40°.
