--------------------------------------------------- Product Name: David Torpedo Boat Copyright 2016 Michael Crisafulli Contact Michael_C via Renderosity Site Mail -------------------------------------- Product Description The Confederate David semisubmersible, one of a class of cigar-shaped torpedo boats used in Charleston to attack the Union's blockading ships, attacked the ironclad steamer USS New Ironsides, causing the only significant damage that ship took during the Civil War. The steam-powered Davids rode very low in the water to avoid detection on their attack runs. The torpedo, more like what we would call a mine today, was mounted on a spar or boom and exploded when rammed against the side of a target ship. Refer to the file list below for file locations. Note that the geometries and textures MUST be in the listed locations. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips: The David Torpedo Boat is a compound figure including some preloaded props. To access the controls select the Torpedo Boat figure Body. Parameter dials - The parameter dial groups load collapsed for convenience. Open a group or subgroup to use it. Transform These standard dials control the overall scale and position of the Topedo Boat and parented attachments. - Translation Set X, Y, X position using Sway, Heave, and Surge nautical term dials - Rotation Control roll, pitch, and yaw Control Steer - Turn the wheel in concert with the rudder. Turn Propeller – The model includes a steam engine and transmission linkage to the propeller shaft although these are mostly hidden within the hull. These move more or less in concert with the propeller for the first two revolutions. Steam Valves – Set the valve handle positions Engine Control bar – Set position Engine Speed - Move the control lever in concert with the engine and propeller speed indicators. Boiler Open the firebox doors independently. Release Steam – Operate the pressure release lever. Boiler Water Level indicator is adjustable. Adjust the height of the coal supply in the port and starboard coal cribs independently. Torpedo Raise or lower the adjustable torpedo boom. POSES M4 and V4 poses - Turn off IK before posing figures. M4 and V4 poses are positioned to match the as-loaded Torpedo Boat figure. Poses may require some adjustment for clothing. (Be sure to parent the figures to the Torpedo Boat figure if you wish to move them in concert.) The Boiler RD5 poses expect the Right Door control set to 0.5. The Utility RD5 pose in the Crew folder sets this control – be sure to select the Torpedo Boat body before using this utility pose. The Steampunk MAT pose hides the plate armor. The special David MAT (from Steampunk) pose shows the armor. LIGHTS The Torpedo Boat loads with an attached light for the boiler fire. When loading other lights after loading the Torpedo Boat use than the "Add to Scene" widget. "Applying to Scene" replaces all current lights. If you do delete the Fire light, you can add it back form the "Michael_C/Torpedo Boat" Lights folder. After adding you will need to parent it manually to the Torpedo Boat. ------------------------------ -- DAZ Studio Compatibility - ------------------------------ The David Torpedo Boat figure loads, operates, and renders well in DAZ Studio. However, differences between the operation of Poser and DAZ Studio prevent some of the product configuration poses from working correctly in DAZ Studio: o Config Fixed Boom - This pose turns on a preloaded smart prop (FixedSpar) and turns off another (RopeEnd). Poser operates on parented props collectively from the Body level. DAZ Studio requires they be adjusted individually. The moving boom parts turn off correctly, but the fixed boom must be turned on manually and the RopeEnd turned off. Similalry with the Config Moving Boom pose. o Utility Pull Rope - These poses turn preloaded props RopeEnd and Rope (the long pull rope) off and on. Thsi must be done manually in DAZ Studio. o Steampunk MAT Pose - If the Fixed Boom has been configured, it must be selected and the MAT pose reapplied. Similarly for the restore David MAT. DAZ Studio uses different camera designations from Poser so the included camera presets don't all work. --------------------------------------------------- List of files contained within this product's zip files. :Documentation:Michael_C David Torpedo Boat ReadMe.txt Marketplace_Standard_License.txt :Runtime:Geometries:MCC:DavidTB CoalCribUV.obj CoalUV.obj DavidUVPs.obj FixedSparUVP.obj HotCoalsUV.obj RopeEndUV.obj RopeUV.obj :Runtime:libraries:Camera:Michael_C:Torpedo Boat David Full Set.cm2 David Full Set.png :Runtime:libraries:Camera:Michael_C:Torpedo Boat:Dolly CAMs Boiler.cm2 Boiler.png Cuddy Forward.cm2 Cuddy Forward.png Cuddy Rear 1.cm2 Cuddy Rear 1.png Cuddy Rear 2.cm2 Cuddy Rear 2.png Cuddy Rear 3.cm2 Cuddy Rear 3.png :Runtime:libraries:Character:Michael_C:Torpedo Boat David Torpedo Boat.cr2 David Torpedo Boat.png :Runtime:libraries:Light:Michael_C:Torpedo Boat Daylight.lt2 Daylight.png Firebox Fire.lt2 Firebox Fire.png Moonlight.lt2 Moonlight.png :Runtime:libraries:Pose:Michael_C:Torpedo Boat:Boom Position Torpedo Lowered.png Torpedo Lowered.pz2 Torpedo Neutral.png Torpedo Neutral.pz2 Torpedo Raised.png Torpedo Raised.pz2 :Runtime:libraries:Pose:Michael_C:Torpedo Boat:Configuration Config Fixed Boom.png Config Fixed Boom.pz2 Config Moving Boom.png Config Moving Boom.pz2 Hide AFT Armor.png Hide AFT Armor.pz2 Hide Center Armor.png Hide Center Armor.pz2 Hide FWD Armor.png Hide FWD Armor.pz2 Show All Armor.png Show All Armor.pz2 Torp Config Angled.png Torp Config Angled.pz2 Torp Config Straight.png Torp Config Straight.pz2 :Runtime:libraries:Pose:Michael_C:Torpedo Boat:Crew M4 Boiler RD5.png M4 Boiler RD5.pz2 M4 Helm.png M4 Helm.pz2 M4 Pressure Release.png M4 Pressure Release.pz2 M4 Raise Boom.png M4 Raise Boom.pz2 Utility Boiler Door Restore.png Utility Boiler Door Restore.pz2 Utility Boiler RD5.png Utility Boiler RD5.pz2 Utility Pull Rope HIDE.png Utility Pull Rope HIDE.pz2 Utility Pull Rope SHOW.png Utility Pull Rope SHOW.pz2 V4 Boiler RD5.png V4 Boiler RD5.pz2 V4 Helm.png V4 Helm.pz2 V4 Pressure Release.png V4 Pressure Release.pz2 V4 Raise Boom.png V4 Raise Boom.pz2 :Runtime:libraries:Pose:Michael_C:Torpedo Boat:MATs Cuddy Armored MAT.png Cuddy Armored MAT.pz2 Cuddy Wood MAT.png Cuddy Wood MAT.pz2 David MAT (from Steampunk).png David MAT (from Steampunk).pz2 David MAT.png David MAT.pz2 Steampunk MAT.png Steampunk MAT.pz2 :Runtime:libraries:Props:Michael_C:Torpedo Boat:Preloaded Coal Crib Port.png Coal Crib Port.pp2 Coal Crib STB.png Coal Crib STB.pp2 Fixed Boom.png Fixed Boom.pp2 Hot Coals.png Hot Coals.pp2 Pull Rope.png Pull Rope.pp2 :Runtime:textures:MCC:DavidTB MC-DTB-Armor.jpg MC-DTB-ArmorBump.jpg MC-DTB-Boiler.jpg MC-DTB-CoalCribBump.jpg MC-DTB-Crib.jpg MC-DTB-CribBump.jpg MC-DTB-CribCoal.jpg MC-DTB-CribCoalBump.jpg MC-DTB-Cuddy.jpg MC-DTB-CuddyArmor.jpg MC-DTB-CuddyArmorBump.jpg MC-DTB-CuddyBump.jpg MC-DTB-CuddySP.jpg MC-DTB-CuddySPBump.jpg MC-DTB-Engine.jpg MC-DTB-Floor.jpg MC-DTB-FloorBump.jpg MC-DTB-Frame.jpg MC-DTB-FrameBump.jpg MC-DTB-GaugeFace.jpg MC-DTB-Glass.jpg MC-DTB-Helm.jpg MC-DTB-HelmBump.jpg MC-DTB-HotCoals.jpg MC-DTB-Hull.jpg MC-DTB-HullBump.jpg MC-DTB-HullSP.jpg MC-DTB-HullSPBump.jpg MC-DTB-Piping.jpg MC-DTB-PowerMech.jpg MC-DTB-SparRig.jpg MC-DTB-SparRigBump.jpg MC-DTB-SparRigSP.jpg MC-DTB-SparRigSPBump.jpg MC-DTB-Stack.jpg MC-DTB-StackBump.jpg MC-DTB-StackSP.jpg MC-DTB-SteamGage.jpg MC-DTB-TorpedoBoom.jpg MC-DTB-TorpedoBoomBump.jpg MC-DTB-TorpedoBoomSP.jpg MC-DTB-TorpedoBoomSPBump.jpg :Runtime:textures:MCC:IBL 20070812_1492.JPG :Templates:Michael_C:Torpedo Boat Armor.bmp Boiler.bmp Coal.bmp CoalCribUV1.bmp Cuddy.bmp Engine.bmp FixedBoom.bmp Floor.bmp Frame.bmp GaugeFace.bmp Helm.bmp HotCoalsUV.bmp Hull.bmp list.txt Piping.bmp PowerMech.bmp SparRig.bmp Stack.bmp SteamGauge.bmp TorpedoBoom.bmp Tube-GageGlass-WaterLev.bmp
