The weapon was also used as a heavy infantry machine gun, in which case it was frequently deployed with a two-wheeled mounting and a single-sheet armour-plate shield. It took its name from the weapons designers Vasily Degtyaryov, who designed the original weapon, and Georgi Shpagin, who improved the cartridge feed mechanism. This became the standard Soviet heavy machine gun in World War II. Like its U.S. equivalent, the M2 Browning, the DShK 1938 was used in several roles. As an anti-aircraft weapon it was mounted on pintle and tripod mounts, and on a triple mount on the GAZ-AA truck. Late in the war, it was mounted on the cupolas of IS-2 tanks and ISU-152 self-propelled guns. As an infantry heavy support weapon it used a two-wheeled trolley which unfolded into a tripod for anti-aircraft use, similar to the mount developed by Vladimirov for the 1910 Maxim gun.It was also mounted in vehicle turrets, for example, in the T-40 light amphibious tank. In 1946, the DShK 1938/46 or DShKM (M for modernized) version was introduced. You will find the items in Character, Pose and Props folders named Cybertenko/Dushka. Geometries, Textures and Reflection Maps are stored in respective folders. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: DShK Heavy Machine gun is made as several poser mostly erc figures: gun itself, cradle, anti-aircraft sights, shoulder rest (not erc), ammunition belt (not erc), ammunition box, carriage - tripod, armor shield, muzzle flame - with flickering effect. You can either use included presets to made three main gun configurations or load each figure individually and then prent them together: gun parents to cradle (mount), aa-sights parents to gun(barrel), shoulder rest parents to cradle (cradle), ammo box (in position variant) parents to cradle (cradle), ammo belt - loaded variant - parents to cradle (cradle), shield parent to cradle (Base) and cradle parents to carriage-tripod (mount base). Elevation and azimuth controls are included in cradle (body erc). In erc figures are master dials used for controling of various body parts or for changing look of model. Additional tips and guides for using the model you will find on promo pictures. Model is completely UV mapped. For certain parts of models are provided texture templates, other material zones are textured by procedural materials or by tiled textures and templates are not applicable for them. Tiled textures and procedural materials may need adjustments in DAZ studio, Carrara or other 3d applications. All poser props have extracted geometry to obj. mesh files which you can use for importing to other modeling or rendering application.
