Installation And Tips: All the materials and objects are included within the *.vob file. "Load" or "Import" the *.vob file into Vue. This file may load into your scene below the ground surface. Lift the entire object into the air. Then, select "Edit" from the top line menu, and select the "Drop Objects" option to place the objects in the file on the Floor. There are two flame objects in the fire ring ("High Flames" and "Low Flames"). You may wish to use both of them, or just one of them. You can edit the Orange-Red Glass material to make them be luminous for night scenes. To do this, in the Material Editor, open the "Effects" tab, and increase the "Luminous" setting until you obtain the amount of light from the flames that is appropriate for your night scene. You can make individual adjustments for the High Flames and the Low Flames objects. For night scenes, the Coleman Lantern Mantles object has two pre-positioned Point Lights whose power is set to 0.0. Increase the power of these points lights until you reach the desire level of light emission. If you are moving the Coleman Lantern, be sure to first "Group" the Coleman Mantles object with the Coleman Lantern object before moving them. The three alternative "forest floor ground planes" have seamless textures applied to them. These textures appear correctly on objects that are UV-mapped, such as the included ground planes, but they will not display correctly on objects with no UV mapping, such as Vue's infinite "Ground" or on procedural terrains. To make a larger ground surface, duplicate the Forest Floor Ground Plane of your choice, and distribute multiple copies over the "ground" to fit your scene. You can rotate these ground planes and overlap them while still maintaining an even appearence of the surface texture. For close-up scenes, you might find it useful to shrink the ground planes so that the scale of the twigs and leaves correspond with the scale of the other objects in your scene. You can make a "Dry Forest Floor" area for the immediate area around the fire ring, and then use the other types of Forest Floor ground planes for the surrounding area. Here is the way to do this. First, select the Dry Forest Floor ground plane, open the Material Editor, and save out the Dry Forest Floor Material to your Material Files. You need this material file, so that you can apply it to another object you are will create in the next step. Second, Vue's "Sphere" object IS UV-mapped. You can "Create" a Vue "Sphere", scale it to approximately match the perimeter size of the fire ring area, and then squash it down a bit. Apply the saved Dry Forest Floor Material to the sphere. Then move the squashed sphere to the Fire Ring, and position it so that it becomes the area immediately around the Fire Ring. You may want to further flatten the sphere until you get a good appearence of the dirt that should be around the Fire Ring. Third, you now can position either of the other Forest Floor ground planes around the area of your scene (If you are in a forested area, you might want to use the Moss Forest Floor ground plane), OR use Vue's ground or terrains in the normal manner. Note: All the indvidual objects can be independently moved, rotated, scaled or saved out as indvidual objects for use in other scenes.
