At the same time, an opulent, yet cottage-style decor, often with an affected feel is emphasized to differentiate it from genuine period decor. Antique, distressed and painted furniture goes well with Shabby Chic designs. Coordinating and distressed strips of cotten and linen are often sewn together for household items giving a colorful but matching cottage style look to the decor. Locate and Choose/highlight/load the desired .asl file(s) (.asl file=layer styles extension) into your Photoshop Styles Tool Palette 7. Or you can access this command from the Layers palette by right-clicking on the small layer effects symbol (looks like an f) on your layer, then choosing the Scale Effects command. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) When you choose Scale Effects, the dialog box "Scale Layer Effects" will appear. You can reduce the scale down as low as 1% to make the effects smaller, or increase the scale up to 1000% to make the effects larger.
