It is perfect for background use and for example aerial viewpoint. The city can be loaded in different parts, and the complete city is 1 square Kilometer (0.62 square Mile). The size is to scale, so items like cars and characters fit right in. The buildings are exterior only. Included is a sky dome for the sky background, sunlight light pre-sets and a few camera pre-sets that load a wide angle dolly camera into different parts of the scene. ................................................................................................ In the "props" library: (static props, no movable parts) The complete scene is cut up into pieces, all separately usable, Zone 1 to 5. To load a zone, you have to load this zone's groundplane, the buildings group and the trees prop. The center zone (zone 3) is the largest area, and I therefore split the buildings and trees into two parts, North and South of the river that runs across the middle. Zone 1 is the North West region. Zone 2 is the North East region. Zone 3 is the center region. Zone 4 is the South West region. Zone 5 is the South East region. If you load a buildings preset, all the buildings are separate repositionable props. They are however parented to one building called "BUILDINGS" in capitals, so if you want to delete or reposition all buildings from that group, select that one. When building a scene I found it easy to make and place them in a grouping, this way you can hide the whole group until your scene is ready to render. Just use the ground plane to position the items in your scene, and then unhide all the buildings before rendering. Included too, are a landpost and traffic light prop. They are not placed troughout the city, this would become too much for an older computer, but you can place them in your scene where needed. Also the 14 different buildings are included as separate props too. ................................................................................................ In the "light" library: -Sunlight Available in three different qualities, explained below. -Standard quality Normal infinite and IBL light, sharp shadows and fast renders -High quality With realistic shadow blur, nice soft shadows but longer render times -Extra high quality With realistic shadow blur and ambient occlusion for small shadows around the edges of geometry, very realistic but long render times. This option uses a lot of RAM memory, especially while rendering a characters hair from close-by. ................................................................................................ In the "camera" library: There are five camera pre-sets included that load a wide-angle dolly camera to your scene. I found the easiest way to move the camera in such an enormous scene, is to select the camera from the items list and use the X,Y,Z transformation dials to move it around. ................................................................................................ In the "materials" library: Pre-sets to change the "lights" of the traffic light prop to green, yellow, red. ................................................................................................
