Print at 90% size for a paper copy reading and storage. Billboard Builder is a high resolution PDF document. You can enlarge all images to see greater detail. • The methods, techniques & products of Billboard Builder will work with any version of DAZ Studio or Poser. The only difference between the Poser & Studio versions is the included Holo Beamer prop Freebie. • The methods & techniques of Billboard Builder work with digital & physical image types. • All methods and techniques are easy and fast to learn and use. It is not highly technical and can be assimilated quickly. The methods acquired can stimulate you to work faster, easier, and with more confidence. • The Holo Beamer colors can be easily changed. Look at the color settings for the included Purple & Turquoise beams. Just change & match the Diffuse and Ambient colors. Four Opacity gradients are included. Move & rotate XYZ axes settings of the Beamer by the “Control Cube” Parent. Resize also by the Control Cube. The Holo Beamer was built from primitives, native to both Poser & DAZ Studio. A torus (beam), a cylinder (holo beam), a cube (controller), 3 flattened cylinders (steps), & 16 spheres (“energy balls”) are the parts. With some “reverse engineering” you can modify this one or make your own. Sample maps (of an alien) are in included in the Textures folder to show what the actual BBP files look like. Try them out. • A further note on Selfie BBPs. Having yourself or friends photographed to make a BBP does require a lot of effort and possibly cost. It is easier & more efficient to make a 3D character Avatar of yourself. The red-bearded guy who guides you through this tutorial is none other than my own self-made Selfie Avatar. With all of the current morphing tools in Poser and Studio it is not too hard to “sculpt” a digital model of yourself. Take a some photo selfies of your head at different angles and set up a mirror on your tabletop. Using your favorite 3D model base, start spinning the dials for head and face morphs, referencing your photos and mirror. It takes some effort and tinkering to get what you want. And you can “cheat” if you want to. My Avatar looks 20 years younger than its model. It’s kinda fun, sculpting yourself! An advantage of a 3D Avatar selfie is that you can pose it and adorn it in a variety of costumes, etc. Then you can really join in the action! Including my avatar in this tutorial makes me feel closer to my audience.
