Refer to the file list below for file locations. Components are found in the "Michael_C/Wind Train" folder within each of the Poser sub-libraries (Figure, Pose, etc.). Note that although most of the Poser files may be moved to other locations, the geometries and textures MUST be in the listed locations. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips: The Wind Train figures use ERC controls at the Body level. For easy access to the controls, the figures' Body loads selected by default. PARAMETER DIALS - Most parameter dial groups load collapsed for convenience. Open a group or subgroup to use it. Wind Engine ----------- Transform These standard dials control rotation and position of the figure. Resize - This dial changes the size of the entire figure. Control These dials provide overall control of the Wind Engine: Wind – Spins all rotors as a function of their individual gear settings, the wind speed anemometer atop the engine, and operates the engine drive train and wheels. Turn Engine – Turns the Wind Engine about a special axis and adjusts the wheels to match the included curved track. There are two additional dials to adjust the wheels in a turn if necessary. Apply Brake – Rotates the brake control wheel and applies the brakes to the drive wheels. Transmission These dials operate the main transmission levers in the engineer's compartment at the front of the engine: Disengage Clutch – Clutch lever is moved forward. Forward-0-Reverse – Speed Lever is positioned Forward, 0 (neutral), or Reverse. This setting also affects the wheels rotation, turning forward or backwards, and not turning in neutral. Rotors These dials control the wind-sail rotor mechanisms: Lower All – Lowers all the rotors together. First (0 to 0.1) all the mechanism cranks are moved from their stowed positions, the rotors are then lowered (0.1 to 1.1), and finally the cranks are re-stowed (1.1 to 1.2). 1-8 – Individual controls are provided for each rotor: Lower – Lower the individual rotor as described above. Unstow Crank – Un-stow or stow the crank. This control may be overridden by the Lower control. Clutch – Position the individual Clutch Lever. Gear – Set the individual gear speed: 0 – neutral, 1 – low, 2 – high. This control effects how fast the rotor spins. Instruments These dials control some the engineer's compartment instrument readings: Wind Direction – Also controls the direct of the roof-mounted wind vane. Time- hours – Set the clock hour hand. Time- minutes – Set the clock minute hand. Miscel Doors Open the hatch at the front of the Wind Engine or the door at the rear. Seat Position the driver's adjustable seat. Heliograph These parameters operate the signaling heliograph at the front of the Wind Engine roof platform (operation based on historical explations). Aim Mirror – Point the heliograph toward the signal target. Tilt Mirror – Adjust the signal mirror so it can be seen by the target. Adjust Sight – Change the height of the sight. This is an aid for aiming the signal. AUX Mirror controls: These three controls position the auxiliary mirror if needed to reflect the sun onto the signaling mirror. Coupler Assys These parameters control the Coupler assemblies at the front and rear of the Wind Engine: Compress the right and left spring buffers individually. Coupler Hook – Operate the hook to couple with another car. Turn Coupler, Move Coupler – Adjust the coupler to match the coupled car if necessary. Adjust Rear View Mirror – Change the angle of the driver's rear view mirror. Passenger Car ------------- Transform Same as the Wind Engine with an additional parameter: Position Car – Moves the car back one car length for each integer. Control Similarly to the Wind Engine: Turn Car – Turns the Wind Engine about a special axis and adjusts the wheels to match the included curved track. There are additional dials to adjust the wheels in a turn if necessary. Roll Wheels – Rolls the wheels. Apply Brake – Rotates the brake control wheel and applies the brakes. Doors Open the front and rear sliding doors or the side door. Seats Individually flip the seats to face the opposite direction. Coupler Assys Operate similarly to the equivalent Engine parameters. Track ----- Special Curve Track – Curves the track and roadbed (including any child sections) to the left or right. Turn Track – Rotates the track (with children) about its front end. The 3-section rail assembly is a compound figure with the lowest number section as the master. The master section has the Turn Track and Z-Position Track parameters. The two child sections do not. Building Track You can create longer tracks using a procedure similar to this one. Build the track before moving the master or applying any curves. 1. Load a 3-Section Rail. 2. Load and select a 1-Section Rail. 3. Parent this new section to the R-Conn body part of the third rail section (this will be the second child, normally named 3RailSection 2). 4. Set the Z-Position Track parameter of the new section to 3. The new section is now a child of the 3-Section rail master and you should move or use the "Turn Track" parameter only of the master. Additional sections may be added in similar fashion. Trains ------ The Trains subfolder contains 1-car, 2-car and 3-car pre-assembled trains. Follow this procedure to add Passenger Cars: 1. Load a pre-assembled train. 2. Load Passenger Car 3. Parent this Passenger Car figure to rear coupler (CouplerHook, NOT CouplerHook_1) of the preceding car figure. 4. Open the just loaded Passenger Car Transform parameter group and change the Position Car parameter to the next appropriate integer value for the car's position. This will be 1 for the second car, 2 for the third, etc. When the correct integer is selected, the car will move to its correct position in the train. 5. You will want to select the preceding Passenger Car figure, delete its "Rear Door Chain prop (DoorChain) and load a Rear Chain Stowed prop. The smart prop will automatically appear in the correct position. POSES Engine Crew These M4 poses apply at the default engine position. Similarly, the Gear Jack and Gear Jack Rotor poses apply at a specific rotor, so the M4 figure must be manually moved for use at a different rotor. The Engineer Calling pose uses the M4 Open Mouth morphs. A Zero Mouth pose is included to reset these morphs when applying a different pose. HIDE-SHOW Hide the Passenger Car side for a view of the interior. Hide the Wind Engine side for a view of the interior. Hide Track roadbed (this must be applied to each section of a compound figure). MATs Passenger Car MAT – Resets the Passenger Car materials to the default set. Wind Engine MAT – Similarly for the Wind Engine. Three Road bed MATs change the bed material: Dirt, Grass, or Gravel default (these must be applied to each section of a compound figure). Passengers These poses apply at the default Passenger Car zero position. Similarly, the separate M4 and V4 Passenger poses apply at specific seats. The M4 and V4 figures can be manually moved to other seats. If any of the cars are to be moved the crew or passenger figures need to to be parented to the car before it is moved. CAMERAS CAM Sets - All the standard cameras are positioned to show the complete Wind Engine or Passenger Car figure in their default loaded positions. The Train set positions the cameras for a one-Passenger Car train. Dolly CAMS Dolly Cameras are included for the Engine and Passenger Car. Interior - Each pose sets the Dolly Camera to show views of or from the Wind Engine cabin interior. Exterior – Poses the Dolly Camera to provide several close-up views of Wind Engine details. LIGHTS Simple Daylight and Moonlight sets are included. Special Lights If used, these lights need to be ADDed to the scene after whatever main lights you use. Engine Lamps – Three lamp lights and one headlamp load at the appropriate locations to match the Wind Engine lamps. Passenger Lamps – Two lamp lights load at the appropriate locations to match the Passenger Car lamps. The special Lamp lights load at the default locations of the Engine and Passenger Car. If either car is to be moved in any way (turn, add car to train, etc) they need to be manually parented individually to the matching car before it is moved. ------------------------------ -- DAZ Studio Compatibility - ------------------------------ Tested In DAZ Studio 4.12. The Wind Train figures load, operate, and render in DAZ Studio. DAZ Studio uses different camera designations from Poser so the included camera presets don't all work. Those that work require adjustment. DAZ Studio doesn't display ECM parameters the same way as Poser but they appear to work properly. --------------------------------------------------- List of files contained within this product's zip files. :Documentation:Michael_C Wind_Train_ReadMe.txt Marketplace_Standard_License.txt :Runtime:Geometries:MCC:WindTrain BenchUVP.obj DoorChainUVP.obj Passenger5BUVF5aPS.obj PlatformUVP.obj RailSectionP.obj RoutePanelUVp.obj StopPostBase3AP.obj StopPostTop3AP.obj StowedChain1UVP.obj WindEngineUV1P.obj WindEngineUV8P.obj :Runtime:libraries:Camera:Michael_C:Wind Train Engine Set.cm2 Engine Set.png Passenger Car Set.cm2 Passenger Car Set.png Train Set.cm2 Train Set.png :Runtime:libraries:Camera:Michael_C:Wind Train:Dolly CAMS:Engine:Exterior Ladder.cm2 Ladder.png Roof Platform 1.cm2 Roof Platform 1.png Roof Platform 2.cm2 Roof Platform 2.png Roof Platform 3.cm2 Roof Platform 3.png Roof Platform 4.cm2 Roof Platform 4.png :Runtime:libraries:Camera:Michael_C:Wind Train:Dolly CAMS:Engine:Interior Driver Section 1.cm2 Driver Section 1.png Driver Section 2.cm2 Driver Section 2.png Engineer Station.cm2 Engineer Station.png Looking Forward.cm2 Looking Forward.png Looking Rearward 1.cm2 Looking Rearward 1.png Looking Rearward 2.cm2 Looking Rearward 2.png Station 1.cm2 Station 1.png Station 2.cm2 Station 2.png :Runtime:libraries:Camera:Michael_C:Wind Train:Dolly CAMS:Passenger:Exterior Passage to Engine.cm2 Passage to Engine.png Passenger Entry.cm2 Passenger Entry.png Tween Cars.cm2 Tween Cars.png :Runtime:libraries:Camera:Michael_C:Wind Train:Dolly CAMS:Passenger:Interior Conductor 1.cm2 Conductor 1.png Conductor 2.cm2 Conductor 2.png Passenger 1.cm2 Passenger 1.png Passenger 2.cm2 Passenger 2.png Passenger 3.cm2 Passenger 3.png :Runtime:libraries:Character:Michael_C:Wind Train Passenger Car.cr2 Passenger Car.png Wind Engine.cr2 Wind Engine.png :Runtime:libraries:Character:Michael_C:Wind Train:Rails !
