--------------------------------------------------- Product Name: X-20 Dyna-Soar Spaceplane Copyright 2019 Michael Crisafulli Contact Michael_C via Renderosity Site Mail -------------------------------------- Product Description The Dyna-Soar X-20 project was a late 1950s-early 1960s US Air Force program to develop a manned spaceplane that could be used for military missions such as space reconnaissance or satellite inspection. Unlike other manned spacecraft of that era, the Dyna-Soar glider was designed to be landed by its pilot like an aircraft. A team of test-pilot astronauts, many of whom had flown the X-15 rocket plane, including Neil Armstrong, who would go on to fly Gemini spacecraft and land on the moon in Apollo 11, was secretly chosen, but the project suffered serious funding problems and was cancelled in December 1963 before any missions were flown. The X-20 Dyna-Soar Spaceplane 3D model is a fully-rigged Poser figure, sized for Poser people, with a detailed cockpit. FIGURE The Dyna-Soar figure has full ERC control at the Body level: o Control surfaces operate realistically o Landing skids deploy realistically o Hatch opens o Payload bay opens o Ejection seat sequence o Jettison window cover sequence Three figures: o Dyna-Soar (Basic) – glider only, no attachments o Dyna-Soar Orbital – configured for orbital flight o Dyna-Soar Suborbital - configured for suborbital test flight POSES o M4 & V4 pilot poses o Hide/Show: o Window cover o Hatch o Default MAT o Default setup PRELOADED PROPS o Intersection adapters o Transtage maneuvering orbital propulsion unit o Reconnaissance camera payload CAMERAS o Full camera sets tailored for easy viewing and rendering of the full Dyna-Soar spaceplane - Includes main, auxiliary, left, right, top, bottom, front and back cameras o Individual Dolly cameras to view the Dyna-Soar cabin interior o Instrument Panel o View of the pilot LIGHTS o Simple In-orbit light set o Simple cabin lights o Firefly o Superfly TEXTURES Image maps up to 4000x4000. All components are UV-mapped with texture templates included. GEOMETRY The figures and props use external geometry in the Poser geometries folder. -------------------------------------- System Requirements: Poser 6 and above, including Poser 11 Tested in DAZ Studio 4.10 (see below) -------------------------------------- Ownership Statement: All of the content in this package was created by Michael Crisafulli (Michael_C) and may include derivatives of the following vendor/merchant resources: One or more textures on this 3D model have been created with images from Textures.com. These images may not be redistributed by default. Please visit www.textures.com for more information. One or more textures use public domain resources from Wikimedia Commons. -------------------------------------- Notes on the Model The Dyna-Soar model is based on mock-up photographs, drawings and plans of changing configurations, descriptions, and artwork. These vary and conflict in details and I took some liberties to reconcile them. The switch panels on either side of the cockpit are based on the Gemini spacecraft. The equivalent X-20 panels would have been located differently. -------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: Unzip files to your main Poser directory, being sure to check "Use Folder Names" and the files will unpack to their proper location. Refer to the file list below for file locations. Components are found in the "Michael_C/X-20" folder within each of the Poser sub-libraries (Figure, Pose, etc.). Note that although most of the Poser files may be moved to other locations, the geometries and textures MUST be in the listed locations. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips: The Dyna-Soar figure uses ERC controls at the Body level. For easy access to the controls the figures' Body loads selected by default. PARAMETER DIALS - The parameter dial groups load collapsed for convenience. Open a group or subgroup to use it. Transform These standard dials control rotation and position of the figure. The rotation dials are renamed to reflect aircraft nomenclature. Resize - This dial changes the size of the entire figure. Control The first four dials control the pilots side stick and pedals and the position of the rudder and elevon aerodynamic control surfaces: Pitch Control Roll Control Yaw Control Rudder Control The remaining dials control the landing sequence: Jettison Window Cover – cover protects the forward-facing windows during reentry. Deploy Skids – Lowers the skids in landing sequence: Doors open, skids deploy and suspension compresses on landing. Open Hatch Miscel Adjust Seat – The pilot seat is normally positioned flight. It can be moved forward for booster flight and backward for ejection. Open Bay – The payload bay doors are opened to expose the mission payload Eject – In an emergency the pilot can activate the election sequence. This would be used if something happened during the landing sequence or if the glider were damaged during a launch abort. The dial first positions the seat for ejection, jettisons the hatch, and then launches the ejection seat. POSES There are three Pilot poses each for M4 and V4: Pilot 1 – hand on the side-arm controller, feet on the rudder controls Pilot 2 – hand on the side-arm controller, feet on the cabin floor Pilot Eject 1 – hands on the ejection ring in normal position Pilot Eject 2 – hands on the ejection ring at ejection stage 1 (Eject dial = 1.000) Note that the pilot poses are set for the glider as-loaded position. The pilot needs to be parented to the seat if the glider is to be moved. (Apply pose before parenting pilot.) The Default Config and Dyna-Soar MAT poses restore all parameter dials and materials respectively to their as-loaded states. HIDE-SHOW Hide or show the hatch. Hide or show the protective window cover. BOOSTER These poses set the X-20 glider to its launch position atop one of the booster rockets (available as freebies): Titan-3D Launch Position – apply to the Dyna-Soar Orbital figure Titan II Launch Position – apply to the Dyna-Soar Suborbital figure CAMERAS CAM Sets - All the standard cameras are positioned to show the complete Dyna-Soar figure in its default loaded position. Use Orbit Set for both Orbital and Suborbital figures. Dolly CAMS Instrument Panel - Sets the Dolly Camera to show a wide-angle, pilot's eye view of the instrument panel. Pilot View – provides a view of the pilot from the panel. LIGHTS Orbit Set - Defaults with a high sun light angle and a low earth light angle as if the sun is high in the scene sky and the earth below. Move these lights around to match your own scene. The Orbital light set should be loaded to replace the lights that Poser starts with. Cabin Lights – These simple lights should be ADDED to the scene so they don't replace other scene lights. They are smart-parented to the X-20 glider. Separate sets are provided for Superfly and Firefly rendering. ------------------------------ -- DAZ Studio Compatibility - UPDATED: I incorporated some fixes found by SpottedKitty (thanks lots!) to correct improper operation of the bay doors and hatch jettison. I also corrected most polygon problems in the Fuselage UV mapping. The Dyna-Soar figure loads, operates, and renders in DAZ Studio. DAZ Studio uses different camera designations from Poser so the included camera presets don't all work. Those that work may require adjustment. --------------------------------------------------- List of files contained within this product's zip files. :Documentation:Michael_C X-20_Dyna-Soar_ReadMe Marketplace_Standard_License.txt :Runtime:Geometries:MCC:X-20 DynaSoarGliderUVP.obj HeatshieldPs.obj ReconCameraPalletUVPS.obj StageAdapterUVPs.obj TranstageUVP.obj X-20Adapter2UVPs.obj :Runtime:libraries:Camera:Michael_C:X-20 Glider Set (Basic).cm2 Glider Set (Basic).png Orbit Set.cm2 Orbit Set.png :Runtime:libraries:Camera:Michael_C:X-20:Dolly CAMs Instrument Panel.cm2 Instrument Panel.png Pilot View.cm2 Pilot View.png :Runtime:libraries:Character:Michael_C:X-20 Dyna-Soar (Basic).cr2 Dyna-Soar (Basic).png Dyna-Soar Orbital.cr2 Dyna-Soar Orbital.png Dyna-Soar Suborbital.cr2 Dyna-Soar Suborbital.png :Runtime:libraries:Light:Michael_C:X-20 !Orbit Set.lt2 !Orbit Set.png Cabin Lights (Firefly).lt2 Cabin Lights (Firefly).png Cabin Lights (Superfly).lt2 Cabin Lights (Superfly).png NOTE- ADD Cabin Lights.lt2 NOTE- ADD Cabin Lights.png :Runtime:libraries:Pose:Michael_C:X-20 Default Config.png Default Config.pz2 Dyna-Soar MAT.png Dyna-Soar MAT.pz2 Hatch HIDE.png Hatch HIDE.pz2 Hatch SHOW.png Hatch SHOW.pz2 Window Cover HIDE.png Window Cover HIDE.pz2 Window Cover SHOW.png Window Cover SHOW.pz2 :Runtime:libraries:Pose:Michael_C:X-20:Boosters Titan II Launch Position.png Titan II Launch Position.pz2 Titan-3C Launch Position.png Titan-3C Launch Position.pz2 :Runtime:libraries:Pose:Michael_C:X-20:Pilot M4 Pilot 1.png M4 Pilot 1.pz2 M4 Pilot 2.png M4 Pilot 2.pz2 M4 Pilot Eject 1.png M4 Pilot Eject 1.pz2 M4 Pilot Eject 2.png M4 Pilot Eject 2.pz2 V4 Pilot 1.png V4 Pilot 1.pz2 V4 Pilot 2.png V4 Pilot 2.pz2 V4 Pilot Eject 1.png V4 Pilot Eject 1.pz2 V4 Pilot Eject 2.png V4 Pilot Eject 2.pz2 :Runtime:libraries:Props:Michael_C:X-20:Preloaded Glider Adapter.png Glider Adapter.pp2 Recon Camera.png Recon Camera.pp2 Titan II Adapter.png Titan II Adapter.pp2 Transtage Adapter.png Transtage Adapter.pp2 Transtage.png Transtage.pp2 :Runtime:textures:MCC:X-20 MC-X20-AbortMotor.jpg MC-X20-AbortMotorBump.jpg MC-X20-AllGlass.jpg MC-X20-CenterPanel.jpg MC-X20-CenterPanelBUMP.jpg MC-X20-Cockpit.jpg MC-X20-CockpitBump.jpg MC-X20-EjectionSeat.jpg MC-X20-EjectionSeatBump.jpg MC-X20-Fuselage.jpg MC-X20-FuselageBump.jpg MC-X20-GliderAdapter.jpg MC-X20-GliderAdapterBump.jpg MC-X20-InstPanelDisplays.jpg MC-X20-InstPanelDisplaysBump.jpg MC-X20-InstPanelDisplaysGlow.jpg MC-X20-LandingGear.jpg MC-X20-LandingGearBump.jpg MC-X20-MainLandingGear.jpg MC-X20-MainLandingGearBump.jpg MC-X20-MiscCockpit.jpg MC-X20-MiscCockpitBump.jpg MC-X20-PilotControls.jpg MC-X20-PilotControlsBUMP.jpg MC-X20-ReconCamera.jpg MC-X20-ReconCameraBump.jpg MC-X20-ReconLens.jpg MC-X20-Right-Left-Panels.jpg MC-X20-StageAdapter.jpg MC-X20-StageAdapterBump.jpg MC-X20-SwitchPanels.jpg MC-X20-SwitchPanelsBump.jpg MC-X20-Transtage.jpg MC-X20-TranstageBump.jpg MC-X20-WingAssy.jpg MC-X20-WingAssyBump.jpg Templates\Michael_C\X-20 AbortMotor.bmp AllGlass.bmp CenterPanel.bmp Cockpit.bmp EjectionSeat.bmp Fuselage.bmp GliderAdapter.bmp InstrumentDisplays.bmp LandingGear.bmp MainLandingGear.bmp MiscCockpit.bmp PilotControls-Cam.bmp ReconCamera.bmp ReconLens.bmp RightLeftPanels.bmp StageAdapter.bmp SwitchPanels.bmp Transtage.bmp WingAssy.bmp
