Product Name: Foggy Walk Contributing Artist: Rowan54 ************************************************************ Previously at Hivewire and YURdigital. Product Description: 18 photographic backgrounds in jpg format, and at 180 dpi/ppi. They are 4000 x 3000 pixels (12 megapixels). Photos were taken 2013 with a Canon PowerShare SX130. Whole packet is a little over 54 Mb and was created with Photoshop on a PC. The photos are of a trail in the Snoqualmie Valley area of western Washington state which used to be a railway track, but which was made into a hiking/biking path and paved. I took pictures of a variety of trail bends and mist densities. I also took pictures of the old railway trestle that's part of the trail...which has a 50 foot drop off of the middle of it. The January day that I took my hike was subfreezing and there was freezing mist coating the eerie trees and making the ground icy. This would work for late fall, winter, or early spring backgrounds. These pictures would also be perfect for mystery, horror, science-fiction, or Halloween backgrounds. Just what is lurking just out of sight in that fog down the trail? Is that dark shape moving in the fog the runner that passed you a few minutes ago, or is it something else that's crawled, clambered, or slithered onto the trail looking for another victim? ***** System Compatibility: PC only. (Created on a PC.) Individual files range from 2,514 KB to 3,424 KB so you'll want enough processing space to handle documents of that size. Software Compatibility: Anything that will open jpg files. Installation: Install directly to the directory where you keep backgrounds that are used for Photoshop, or which ever program that you are using. ***** Useage instructions: These can be used as backgrounds in art programs such as Photoshop or Gimp; as a backdrop in a program such as Daz Studio; or as a texture in a program such as Bryce. Rendering 3D characters to add to a background? Here's a quick list of some very basic hints. (1) Make sure the characters are at the same angle as the background. (2) Check that light on the character is close to the same intensity, the same color, and the same angle as what is in the photo. (3) Your characters need shadows so that they don't float. Make a new layer below the character, use a very soft round brush, black, 33% opacity (OR LESS) and brush around the feet and where the character will be touching things. If you can make the shadows realistic, kudos...but for most of the time, a roundy shadow works just fine. These pictures work great as is for backgrounds for computer screens as well. I retinted my favorite one in sepia, and sized it to fit my screen, and have had it up for 2 months at the time of this writing. (Since you ask, my favorite is #5.) ***** You MAY use this pack in all of your artwork, personal or commercial You MAY use this pack for scrap booking, both digital and printable - for yourself and for others You MAY use this pack to create your artwork for sale, such as prints You MAY use this pack to make greeting cards, websets, email stationary, etc. so long as they are altered and not redistributed as they are You may not print them out and distribute them as they are or re-distribute these files "as they are" in ANY format.
