Product Name: Snowy Woods Contributing Artist: Rowan54 -------------------------------------- Required Software: Any program that will open .jpg files. -------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: Install where ever you install 2D backgrounds. -------------------------------------- Important Notes: Snowy Woods for that dark Medieval fairy tale waiting to be born. Dark snowy woods. Just the place for dark fairy stories: the lost wood-cutter's daughter, the dark angel visiting the sinning person, the troll making his way to his den. Or they could be used for Medieval scenes, or hikers, or people hunting for things for their winter festival. All of them have plenty of space at the front (and sometimes other places) to put 3D characters into. Most of these could also be used as "decoration" pictures (with a frame, for example) on the wall of a room. What's Included & Features Images (.jpg) 24 photos. 14 of them are 3456x2592 (8.96 megapixels) each. 8 of them are 4000x3000 (12 megapixels) each. When using 2D backgrounds in Poser, Daz Studio or Photoshop, remember that the light in the photo is the way the light in the photo is going to be. You'll want to match the direction, intensity, and color of the light on your characters and props. Poser: To add to Poser 10 (other Poser versions should be similar): File/Import/Background picture/browse to where you keep the photos. Turn ground plane off. Poser seems to render just the characters, so that you can make layers with shadows and background in an image editor program such as Photoshop. Move lights so the characters are lit the same as the background. DAZ Studio: To add to DAZ Studio 4.10 (64 bit) (other Daz Studio versions should be similar): Windows/Panes/Environment/Browse to where you keep the photos. Shift the ground plane grid so that it matches the groundplane of the photo, so that the characters don't look like they're floating. Move lights so the characters are lit the same as the background. Rendering 3D characters to add to a background? Here's a quick list of some very basic hints. 1- Make sure the characters are at the same angle as the background. 2- Check that light on the character is close to the same intensity, the same color, and the same angle as what is in the photo. 3- Your characters need shadows so that they don't float. Make a new layer below the character, use a very soft round brush, black, 33% opacity (OR LESS) and brush around the feet and where the character will be touching things. If you can make the shadows realistic, kudos...but for cartoon characters and places it won't show much, a roundy shadow works just fine. ***** You MAY use this pack in all of your artwork, personal or commercial You MAY use this pack for scrap booking, both digital and printable - for yourself and for others You MAY use this pack to create your artwork for sale, such as prints You MAY use this pack to make greeting cards, websets, email stationary, etc. so long as they are altered and not redistributed as they are You may not print them out and distribute them as they are or re-distribute these files "as they are" in ANY format.
