--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "SUMMER_OR_FALL_EUROPEAN_LINDEN," by FORESTER All copyrights to this product reserved by FORESTER - May 2021 Ownership statement: All of the content in this package was created by Forester ================================================================ PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Here are eleven European Linden Trees (Tilia europa) with Summer and Fall season foilage options. Originally, these trees were designed to populate the Paris Coffee Kiosk landscape set, but they are general-purpose and can be used for any setting or any scene. These Linden Trees have physically accurate forms for the species and variety. All are "open-grown" and have shapes of the kinds found along Parisian riverbanks. One of the trees is much older than the other ten trees. It is specifically shaped to be placed alongside the Paris Coffee Kiosk model and hang over it as shown in the picture ("PositionHeroTreeOverKiosk.jpg") found in the Documents Folder. To help complete a Fall Season scene, the package includes one large patch of fallen leaves for the ground around any of the trees, and one smaller and more sparse patch of fallen leaves. If your application allows random scattering of objects such as tree leaves, one low-polygon count tree leaf is included for this purpose. These trees are relatively high resolution, but they are designed so that the lower portions of the trees (the trunk, roots and lower branches) are higher detail than the upper parts of the trees that are not as easily seen. In this way, they can be used for close-up views, but also are not too heavy in terms of their polygon count to be used in the background of any scenes. The trees also are designed so that they can be used for either Summer Season scenes, or for Autumn Season scenes. That is, a relatively large number of both summer-color and autumn-color leaf materials are included in the package, and can be applied to the trees in any combination desired. Linden tree leaves typically have a variety of shades at any given time. These trees each support three different leaf colors and simple instructions are provided below for their use. INCLUDED IN THIS PRODUCT: Hero Linden Over-Kiosk Tree Linden Tree 1 through Linden Tree 10 Fallen Leaf Patch Small Fallen Leaf Patch Single Low-Polygon Linden Leaf Six alternative green leaf materials Seven alternative yellow or orange leaf materials SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Any application capable of importing and display models in the *.obj file format. INSTALLATION: When unpacked, the models in this group and the materials for them will occupy approximately 953 MB of disk space. You should create a directory (file folder) for the European Linden Tree models, and then unzip each of the three zip files into it. USAGE TIPS: European Linden trees have a lot of natural color variation in their leaves at any time of the year. To provide for this color variation in the leaves, each of the "regular" ten trees use three different leaf materials, and the old "hero" tree uses four different leaf materials. You can assign any of the provided leaf materials to the trees, but you should be aware of how the leaf materials are proportioned across all the leaves of each tree. Here is the information you need to set the general color tone of each tree as you wish: Each "regular" tree has four sub-components, and each of the sub-components should get its own material. For example, the Linden_Tree_1" object is made up of the following sub-components -- EuropeanLindenTrunkBranches - this takes the Linden Bark material LindenLeaf1_60Percent - this takes the first leaf material you want to use for the tree, and applies it to 60 percent of all the tree leaves. Whichever color leaf material you apply to this first sub-component will determine the general, overall color of the tree. LindenLeaf2_TwentyPercent - this is intended to take a different leaf material, and it will apply that to twenty percent of the remaining leaves LindenLeaf3_twentyPercent - this is intended to take a third leaf material, and will apply it to the remaining twenty percent of the tree leaves. The "hero" tree is like these, but it has six sub-components. OldEuropeanLindenTrunkBark - this takes the Linden Bark material CambiumKnot - this takes the "Aged Merabu" material or any straight-grained material you want to use for the cambium layer that shows through the scar in the center of the "knot" where an old branch broke from the tree trunk. Leaf1_60Percent - this takes the first leaf material you want to use for the tree, and applies it to 60 percent of all the tree leaves Whichever color leaf material you apply to this sub-component will determine the general, overall color of the tree. Leaf2_TenPercent - this is intended to take a second, different leaf material, and it will apply that to ten percent of the remaining leaves Leaf3_TenPercent - this is intended to take a third, different leaf material, and it will apply that to ten percent of the leaves Leaf4_TwentyPercent - this is intended to take a fourth leaf material, and will apply it to the remaining twenty percent of the tree leaves. Although this is probably obvious, use the green-colored leaf materials for Summer Season trees, and use the yellow and orange colored leaves for the Fall Season trees. The two objects which represent fallen leaves for the Fall Season have yellow and orange leaf materials applied to them. But you can alter the general appearence of these fallen leaf patches by following the guidelines listed just above.
