Included in this product: - 12 props containing a single 3D cloud each (volumetric cloud). There are no 2D planes, textures or tricks, these clouds use a volume shader that reacts to the lights in your scene; - 1 prop with a lower resolution version for each of the 12 standard clouds; - 4 prop groups with some different arrangements of the 12 low resolution props, to help you quickstart; - Material nodes included ONLY for Cycles Surface (Superfly). How to use: From the props library, open "EV-Clouds3D" folder, choose a model and double clicking on it, or drag/drop into your scene. We suggest using the low resolution vesions ("Low_" folders) to get familiar with the product, if the cloud will be far from the camera, or when working with groups of clouds. The standard versions ("Standard_" folder) have higher resolution and will be better for close/medium shots, but having multiple copies in scene can slow down performance if your computer is not powerful enough. Positioning: use the Poser native transform dials or the move tool to position your clouds, you can also group them as any other prop, scale, rotate, etc. Visuals: changes can be made via custom dials in the Pose Room. You can also type directly in the nodes of the Material Room, just make sure to change only the "animated" parameters (the ones with a highlighted key). For the color dials you might want to edit in the material room, but this is up to you, the dials are dynamically connected to the shader nodes. Changing the density and absorption/scatter parameters will have a great impact on the appearance of your clouds. Tip: if you tweak it too much and find a new setup you like, save it to your library as a new prop for later use! Rendering: Superfly ONLY! Check your render settings, for final results "Max transparent bounces" must be set to 180 or higher (otherwise the clouds will appear black). These models do NOT need subdivision, leave it at 0 for both preview and render. Find below a description of the custom dials available in the Pose Room, the defaults work fine in most cases, only change it if you need or want to experiment. As a general good practice avoid extreme values as it can lead to strange visual results. To learn more about the density/absorption/scatter nodes from the Cycles workflow please see the Poser Manual. Custom dials description: - ClassCutoff (0-100): each cloud has 100 classes of density, so for example 0 displays all of them, 20 would hide the first 20 classes (low density), usually from the outermost part of the geometry. - Density_Base_Value: density value shared by all classes (always added). - Density_Step_Value: incremental value. This is cumulative as the material class increases. - Absorption_Scatter_Mix: 0 means absorption volume only, 1 means scatter volume only, 0.5 is 50%/50% mix. - Absorption_ColorR,G,B: color to be used for the absorption volume. - Scatter_ColorR,G,B: color to be used for the absorption volume. - Scatter_Anisotropy: anisotropy for the scatter volume.
