For manual installation extract the zip folder "Runtime" over your Runtime of preference. Description: A small campfire for your external scenes. The entire prop measures approx. 1.37 x 1.82 x 1.16 (meters). The fire has emission turned on by default, so it may cast light on other objects depending on your render settings. Included items: - Wooden sticks pile with a simple procedural material. Default material preset included for easy restore after custom changes; - A campfire prop made of 2 orthogonal sets of vertical planes (rectangles). Default material available as preset for easy restore after custom changes; - The multiple vertical planes will display an animation sequence of 300 frames each (original frame rate 30 fps); - 300 image texture files with density data for the animation, JPG format, 1024 x 1024 resolution; - 300 image texture files with temperature data for the animation, JPG format, 1024 x 1024 resolution; - UV map template included for both wooden sticks and the vertical planes. HOW TO USE: Find the props and material presets on their respective libraries. The campfire prop has a grouped version, which contains both the fire and the wooden sticks for your convenience. Choose the group or individual props, load it into your scene and you are good to go. You will most likely want to experiment with changing the "emission strength" and "color ramp" shader node values in the material room. The emission strength will affect how much light the fire cast on other objects and the color ramp value will change which color of the ramp is used on which part of the fire (depending on the temperature coming from the image texture). And of course you can even alter the color ramp colors if you want a psychedelic crazy fire! RENDERING: Ready for both Firefly and Superfly render engines. The main issue you may encounter is related to the amount of transparent planes so close to each other, it is recommended to use "max transparent bounces" 450 or higher in Superfly for good results. If you are on Firefly, think twice before activating "indirect light" for the casting of fire light on scene objects, this can increase render times significantly, and if you still want to see it use a small value of "1" for indirect light quality. Please note that results may vary between different render engines due to each one's unique characteristics. *** IMPORTANT (for NVIDIA OptiX™ users) ***: In my tests I found that OptiX was causing strange shadows, namely "rectangular" shadows from the vertical planes, instead of the fire/smoke shadows one would expect. Simply turning it off on render settings make it render as expected. In any case this is only relevant if you have lights that would cast shadows from the fire. Disk space usage (approx.): 90 Mb textures, 1.2 Mb libraries, 530 Kb geometries. Requirements: Poser 10+. Product developed using Poser 12.0.1029, running on PC/Windows.
