These are in *.fbx file format. These two models of kitchens are simplified versions of two real world kitchens found in the village of Pienza, Italy. The kitchens are generous in size. The models have been made with permission of the owners of the real kitchens and are relatively faithful with respect to shape and material. The first kitchen has a modern "Tuscany" model stove made in Italy by the Viking company. The second kitchen has a modern "Officine Gullo" stove made by that Italian company. In both cases, I have modelled a version of the stove that is similiar to the real one in the kitchen, but that does not match any known model made by either company in order to avoid copyright issues. The models in this package include the following individual objects: * Tuscan Kitchen_3 - Classic Tuscan kitchen with mortared brick back wall, pizza oven and varnished maple wood theme * Antique Italian Table * Simple Wooden Chair_0 * Simple Wooden Chair_1 * Simple Wooden Chair_2 * Tuscan Kitchen 4 - Classic Tuscan kitchen with stove in alcove and dark wood theme * Rosemary Pot * Oil Cruet * Dark Wood Italian Island * Dark Wood Chair 1 * Dark Wood Chair 2 * Full set of PBR textures for all items, in folders for each kitchen model. Almost every object in these kitchen models is "textured" with a full PBR (physically based render) suite of materials so that the kitchens will appear as physically accurate as possible under any lighting condition, and will look the same way in almost all rendering engine. A "PBR" suite of materials typically includes four or more individual "maps" for any given material. One of these provides the basic color, another provides a raised surface texture of some kind, a third provides the amount of shinniness, a fourth map might describe the amount of transparency or the degree of metallic reflection os the materials, and so forth. So, for any given part of an object, such as the wrinkled red foil wrapper around the top of a wine bottle, there usually is more than one "map" that makes up the foil material of the wrapper. Models in current *.fbx file format contain both the mesh and the most basic color and surface texture maps associated with the model. However, the *.fbx format does not incorporate the full array of physically based material maps that might be used for any of the materials. Also, some rendering engines do not "read" all of the material maps associated with an *.fbx model, so even though the maps are present within the *.fbx file, they might not display when loaded into some applications. Therefore, this product includes an independent folder containing all the suites of PBR maps for every material used in these models. If you wish to make these kitchens look like those shown in the product pictures in your own renders, it is probable that you will need to use your application's material editor to add more of these PBR maps to each material of the model. Your rendering engine or application provides instructions for doing this. The two kitchens in this package make use of the same materials wherever possible. For example, "spanish plaster" is used for most of the walls in both models. Therefore, to avoid duplication and minimize the download file size, all PBR materials for both kitchens are presented in a single directory (file folder) so that there is no unnecessary repetition of files in the download file. Some of the objects in the kitchens are large enough to require "repeating textures" - that is, seamless textures that are intended to repeat one or more times in the "U" or the "V" direction, or both. Here is a list of those few materials that require multiplication and the type of multiplication required. For example, the "Cement_Banchetto_Tiles" that is applied to the long narrow countertop in Kitchen #3 requires 9 multiples in the "U" direction and 6 multiples in the "V" direction. Dark Rue Wood_2X1: 2 X 1 is used for the long counter body and the Island body. Plaster_Spanish: 4 x 4 Terracotta Floor Tiles: 20 x 20 In the Documents Folder, there is a document: "HDRI Lighting-Kitchen Background Models." This document briefly describes image based lighting using high dynamic range images ("HDRI") for those not acquainted with this method of lighting a scene. The document explains that some HDR images are characterized by strong sunlight and can be used to "steer" the lighting in the interior of a room while other HDR images are characterized by evenly distributed light and provide good diffuse lighting for an interior. The document uses the models of the two kitchens found in the package "Background Kitches - Volume 1" to illustrate how these two different types of HDR images can light room interiors. But, you do not need to possess those models to understand the concepts of the document. The concepts apply equally well to the kitchens in this product package.
