--------------------------------------------------- Product Name: Victorian Flying Saucer Copyright 2023 Michael Crisafulli Contact Michael_C via Renderosity Site Mail -------------------------------------- Product Description In 1897 near the end of the Victorian Era, drawing on emerging electrical technology and developing his own pioneering concepts of magnetic flux propulsion, the brilliant engineer Eugene Lentier built his first flying saucer, the Explorer. The Explorer line was so successful that Lentier expanded into the military market, manufacturing light gunships. The Victorian Saucer 3D model is a fully-rigged Poser figure, sized for Poser people. Although designed for Poser, it is compatible with DAZ Studio (see notes below). FIGURE The poseable Victorian Saucer figure has ERC controls at the Body level that, among other things: o Lower the landing gear o Open the stairway hatch and lower the stairs o Operate the pilot controls o Operate the gunship cannons individually o Open the gunship top hatch PROPS o Cannon Bursts (smart props) POSES o M4 and V4 crew poses o Configuration - Explorer (default) - Gunship o Hide/Show poses - Hide parts for convenient visibility of full interior CAMERAS o Full camera set positioned for easy viewing and rendering of the full Airship figure. Includes main, auxiliary, left, right, top, bottom, front and back cameras. o Dolly Camera settings for interior views LIGHTS o Simple Day and Moonlight sets o Cabin lights TEXTURES Image maps up to 4000x4000. All components are UV-mapped with texture templates included. Please visit www.textures.com for more information. -------------------------------------- Notes on the Model The saucer model is inspired by concept images by "Riofranco" and Jean-Luc Sabourin and draws on details from my earlier Victorian Spacecraft and Haunebu figures. -------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: Unzip files to your main Poser directory, being sure to check "Use Folder Names" and the files will unpack to their proper location. Refer to the file list below for file locations. Components are found in the "Michael_C/Victorian Saucer" folder within each of the Poser sub-libraries (Figure, Pose, etc.). Note that although most of the Poser files may be moved to other locations, the geometries and textures MUST be in the listed locations. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips: The Saucer figure uses ERC controls at the Body level. For easy access to the controls the figure's Body loads selected by default. PARAMETER DIALS - The parameter dial groups load collapsed for convenience. Open a group or subgroup to use its dials. Transform These standard dials control rotation and position of the Saucer aircraft figure. Resize - This dial changes the size of the entire figure. Landing Gear Lower the four landing gear in unison The individual gear are adjustable for uneven terrain Stairway Open the hatch panels and lower the stair The stair can be adjusted slightly for uneven terrain Control Roll – Tilts the control yoke left and right Pitch – Tilts the yoke forward and back Yaw – Rotates the yoke left and right Throttle – Advance forward, retard back The pilot seat rotates The Gunship controls are for that configuration Open the top hatch Open all the porthole covers in unison Guns Each of the three cannon are individually Trained left and right and elevated up and (mostly down) Seats The gunner's seats are individually rotated PROPS The props load as pre-parented associated sets. o Cannon bursts for each cannon POSES Crew Poses for M4 & V4 o Pilot o Observers at view ports o Gunners Configurations - Explorer (default) - Gunship HIDE-SHOW - Hide/show Saucer top (there are separate SHOW poses for the Explorer and Gunship configurations) - Hide/show the Gunship cupola roof CAMERAS Saucer Set - All the standard cameras are positioned to show the complete Saucer figure in its default loaded position. Note that adjustments may be necessary depending on your document window setup. Dolly CAMs Numerous interior view Dolly cameras. LIGHTS Simple Daylight and Moonlight sets with included IBLs Three Cabin lights for both configurations and one Gunship Cabin light. These lights load parented to the Saucer. (The Cabin Lights must be ADDed to the scene or they will replace all previously loaded lights.) ------------------------------ -- DAZ Studio Compatibility - Tested in DAZ Studio 4.21 to the extent that parameter controls work as intended and the figure renders satisfactorily. I've made no attempt to convert or optimize materials. In Poser the Cabin lights load parented to the Saucer; in DAZ studio they don't. Otherwise, the Saucer figure loads, operates and renders in DAZ Studio. Many of the promo images were rendered in DAZ Studio. DAZ Studio uses different camera designations from Poser so the included camera presets don't all work.
