Requirements: ==================== Poser 11.3 or later with Superfly Installation: ==================== Using a zip file utility, unzip the product's zip files to the Poser Runtime folder of your choice. Make sure that your zip extraction program is set to "maintain folder paths". If you do not have a zip file utility, you can download 7zip which is freeware from www.7-zip.org Usage Instructions: ==================== 1. Start by loading the hair model or prop of your choice onto the figure of your choice. 2. Go from the Pose Room to the Material Room and then open the Materials Library and find the folder "Dream 9 Studios-->Dream Hair Superfly P11" if you use Poser 11 or the folder "Dream 9 Studios-->Dream Hair Superfly P12-13" if you use either Poser 12 or Poser 13. Each program handles certain material nodes a bit differently so it's important to choose the correct folder for your program. 3. With the hair model/prop selected in the Material Room, choose the main material of that hair (could be called anything EXCEPT scalp, cap, etc. Those we will deal with later.) *Take note of what the transparency map is for this hair material!* Choose a hair color in the "Basic Hair" or "Hair Blends" folders and apply it to the selected material. 4. In the material room, you should see a node that is titled "Transparency Map" and in it you will see an image file that says "Remember to put Transparency Map Here". Select "Image Source" on that node and select the transparency map for that hair that you made a note of in Step 3. 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each of the main hair materials if it has muliple hair material zones. Many hairs have several while others will have only one. It just depends on the hair and who created it. 6. Now find the hair's scalp material. This is usually named either "scalp" or "cap" or "head" so use your best judgement on which it is. For this material, AGAIN Take note of the transparency map for this material as it is most likely different than the main hair material. Now choose a hair color from the "Scalp Hair" folder. 7. Again, in the Material Room, you should see a node titled "Transparency Map" and in it an image file that says "Remember to put Transparency Map Here". This time you need to put the special scalp transparency map that you made note of in Step 6. 8. You should now be good to go to render in Superfly. These hair materials are ONLY for Superfly! Additional: The "Basic Hair" folder contains all of the solid hair colors. The "Hair Blends" folder contains a small selection of materials with two hair colors blended together. You can easily make your own hair blends by replacing the textures in the "Top Color Map" and "Lower Color Map" nodes with hair color textures of your choice. Feel free to experiment! If you see dark spots in your hair when rendering, you will need to increase the "Min Transparency Bounces" and "Max Transparency Bounces" in your Superfly Render Settings. I usually increase them each by 10 points each (such as Min = 10 and Max = 20, then Min = 20 and Max = 30, etc." until all the dark spots are gone and the transparency looks correct.
