Vargas (EVargas) - Feb/2024 Requirements: Daz Studio 4 with Iray, Default Resources for Daz Studio (Simple OpenVDB MDL Volume). Ownership statement: All of the content in this package was created by EVargas. ---------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION: Extract the zip folder contents over your content library of choice. DESCRIPTION: A mysterious flame that flickers nervously in an infinite loop of 96 frames (4 seconds @24fps), allowing the effect to last as long as you need. Prop measures approx. 1.5x 1.5 x 1.5 meters. Includes an all new automation script to activate the infinite loop in the viewport. Forget about workarounds, this is like magic! ITEMS INCLUDED: - A volume container all set and ready to render; - NEW! Automatic looping system via script. You'll see it looping in realtime in the viewport, and you can render with the native Daz Studio options like image sequence or still frame; - NEW! Script to randomize the loop timing on multiple props at once (yes!). With multiple copies in the scene, you are just one click away from seeing they all loop in a different manner! - A sequence of 96 VDB files for the flame animation, with flame attribute; - Material presets (Iray): default + 5 styles. HOW TO USE: 1. Add the "Mysterious Flame" prop to your scene (a keyframe for auto loop ON is set by default for your convenience); 2. (Optional) Choose a different material from "Iray Materials" folder or customize it as you like (surfaces tab / volume); 3. Run the "ControlShaderVolume" script. Once the connection is active move the playhead in timeline to see it updating (in Nvidia Iray Preview mode); 4. Render as still frame or image sequence using the Daz Studio native options! 5. (Optional) Run the "ControlShaderVolume" script again to close the connection and stop the script automation. But don't worry if you leave it on, it is not persistent and will close once you close the application. HOW IT WORKS (how you can control it): If you open the parameters tab, for each instance in the scene, you will have under path "/EVargas" the following parameters, which are used by the script: -"Volume File Index": use this for manual animation (when auto loop is OFF). As long as the script is active this will control which VDB file is used by the shader. You can animate this parameter; -"Auto Loop": this is like click and forget. If you set this to ON the script will skip the above "Volume File Index" and run an automatic infinite loop, with frame 0 being defined as below ("Auto Loop Start Index"). You can animate this parameter; -"Auto Loop Start Index": the VDB volume file to be considered in frame 0 when auto looping. I don't see a reason to animate this parameter unless you really need, it will usually be constant. BONUS: If your computer can handle multiple of these props in the scene, you can take advantage of the included auto loop randomizer. Simply run the "Randomize_AutoLoopStartIndex" script and follow the instructions. Make sure you did not change the original nodes prefix (EV**-). The script will randomize the parameter "Auto Loop Start Index" on the respective props. RENDERING TIPS: Ready for Nvidia Iray. This product uses the Simple OpenVDB MDL Volume shader preset, so if you are familiar with it you can manually change the settings in the surfaces tab. I provide some custom material presets in the product folder if you want, to use it simply select the volume container and apply. Important! When rendering VDB volumes (more so if emission enabled) I recommend that you always set a time limit (see render settings / progressive / max time in seconds). Daz Studio can make the math for you, so if you type for example "60*60" and click enter it will show 3600 which means 60 minutes. Product tested on Windows 10 / Daz Studio 4.22. Not tested on Mac!
