It was designed to serve in a squad support role to provide precise long-range engagement capabilities to ordinary troops following the Warsaw Pact adoption of the 7.62×39mm intermediate cartridge and assault rifles as standard infantry weapon systems. The SVD was developed through 1958–1963 and selected as the winner of a contest that included three competing groups of designers, led by Sergei Simonov (prototype rejected in April 1960), Aleksandr Konstantinov, and Yevgeny Dragunov. Extensive field testing of the rifles conducted in a wide range of environmental conditions (Konstantinov's competing 2B-W-10 prototype was simpler and cheaper but tested less accurate, durable and reliable) resulted in Dragunov's proposal chambered for the 7.62×54mmR fully powered cartridge being accepted into service in July 1963.[5] An initial pre-production batch consisting of 200 rifles was assembled for evaluation purposes, and from 1964 serial production was carried out by Izhmash, later called Kalashnikov Concern. You will find the items in Poser in Character, Light, Materials, Pose and Props folders named Cybertenko/SVD. Geometries, Textures and Reflection Maps are stored in respective folders. In Daz Studio you will find item in /Props/Weapons/Cybertenko/SVD. This is standalone figure. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: In poser load either SVD gun or SVD Full Preset and M4/V4 Figure. Apply "in hand" pose to gun. Now you need manually parent (set figure parent) to M4/V4 Right Hand. Now you can apply any pose or hand pose to M4 Figure. Then you can apply any other firing pose or other third party poses to M4/V4 and finally adjust hand pose. Choose material for either basic or modern and of PBR or Specular Materials. finally you can enhnace firing situation with muzzle flame and point light parented point light. In Daz studio you may use RH parented Gun variant which parent automatically to G8M/G8F right hand. Than apply any other props/figures when gun is selected.
