It will not work with older versions. In Poser, click Help > About Poser to see what version you have installed. The version is displayed on the bottom left corner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Installation Instructions: You can install this Python script in 2 different ways (requires Poser 12.0.752 or newer): 1. If you have the ZIP file: from Poser's main menu, choose File > Install from ZIP archive. 2. From Poser's built-in store: From the library's "Purchase" tab, click the "Renderosity" option. Now locate your purchased Python script tool, and click the respective "Install" button. Once the script is installed, it will show it in Poser's main menu, from the Scripts menu. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Usage Tips: * This script relies on a new feature only introduced in the new Cycles engine for Poser 13. This is why it will not work in P12 or older versions, and there is nothing I can do about it. * When a file is selected from the drop down list, a preview is generated and displayed on the script panel. For bigger HDRI maps, such as 8K or larger, this may take a while due to the huge data sizes, so please be patient. * In general, you don't want your scene lights to interfere with HDRI lighting. For that purpose, the script offers an option to disable scene lights with 1-click. This won't delete or disable your scene lights. Instead, they will still light your preview, but will have no affect in renders. A huge time-saver! * By default, the script will automatically point to the folder where P13 stores the bundled HDRI images. To add more from online sites, just use the "..." button from the "HDRI Map" box at the top of the script to navigate to the folder where you have saved the downloaded HDRI maps. * The big down arrow button from the upper top corner contains a list of all folders you have selected HDRI images from, so it serves as a shortcut to quickly reach them without browsing navigation. You can use CTRL+Click to REMOVE a folder from the list if desired. * If you enable the checkbox option to "Load HDRI when selected", the respective HDRI will be automatically loaded every time you make a selection from the HDRI Map list, without having to press the "Set HDRI" button. This option becomes available after you press the "Set HDRI" button the first time. * The option to setup Shadow Catcher on the Ground object only works if its root node is a PoserSurface. * All rotation sliders are reset when a new HDRI image is loaded. This is normal default behavior, since rotations have a different meaning in different HDRI images. * Right-clicking a slider resets it back to the original value. * Increasing the exposure value can make the HDRI backdrop image look washed out if the colors go beyond their value range (color clipping). * If you just want to rotate the HDRI image to left or right, use the Y axis from the rotation sliders. The values are in degrees, so 180 means half a turn to the right. * If you are using the "Construct" or the Ground plane, they will cause some issues with HDRI lighting. They are discussed and explained in the PDF manual at page #4 in the "Poser Construct and Other Domes" section. It only takes 2 clicks to fix them, so please make sure to read the instructions. * As explained at page #5 in the PDF manual, not all HDRI images are created equal. Some are good, but there are many that were poorly created that will result in poor lighting results in renders. Quality HDRI requires many shots at different exposures. Poorly made HDRI will result into murky lighting, no shadows, low contrast images, and poor PBR reflections. * HDRI Control is a native Poser panel, and can be freely resized, positioned, and even docked into the Poser interface. It will remember it's last position, size, and docking state next time you launch it. There is also an option to disable auto-docking if needed. * You can open the PDF manual at any time by clicking the Help button from the interface. * For your convenience, you can quickly close the script (when something on it is selected) by pressing the ESC key. It will not ask for confirmation. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Ownership Statement: Created by Ken1171 Designs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ File List: ..\Ken1171\HDRI Control P13 HDRI Control.pyc install_python.json ..\Ken1171\HDRI Control P13\Classes HdriControl.pyc HdriControlGUI.pyc HdriLightControl.pyc HdriPrevFolders.pyc HdriRotConv.pyc HdriShadowCatcher.pyc ..\Ken1171\HDRI Control P13\Classes\hdriControlLib AboutHelpButtons.pyc ButtonsHighlightColor.pyc PanelLauncher.pyc PanelState.pyc PoserUtils.pyc RendoProcess.pyc WxDialogs.pyc ..\Ken1171\HDRI Control P13\Classes\Images btn_About.png btn_DockableOff.png btn_DockableOn.png btn_Help.png btn_PrevFolder.png NoPreview.png ..\Ken1171\HDRI Control P13\Manual HDRI Control v1.2.0 Manual.pdf ..\Ken1171\HDRI Control P13\Readme for HDRI Control P13+ Readme For HDRI Control P13.txt ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Notes & Copyright This product and its entire content are copyrighted : Copyright 2024, Ken1171 Designs.
