--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ancient Persia Harbor - Set2", by FORESTER All copyrights to this product reserved by FORESTER - September 2024 Ownership statement:All of the content in this package was created by Forester ================================================================ PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This is the second "set" in a large collection of models for making scenes of an ancient Persian River Harbor. This set focuses on the ships under full sail, and contains twelve (12) models. These include the sailing ships, some small background terrains and three more buildings for the Harbor. All the models except for the background terrains are detailed and in high resolution. A better description of the models in Set 2 can be found in the *.pdf document titled "Ancient Persian - The City Harbor - Set 2." This document has pictures of each model and provides details about the model and material file formats. A copy of this document is included in in this zip file. INCLUDED IN THIS PRODUCT: The twelve models in Set 2 of the Ancient Persia Harbor are listed below. The first group of models are four detailed ships under full sail. Early Dhow Under Sail, Large Cargo Dhow Under Sail Dhow 4 Under Sail Fast Courier UnderSail These ships are similiar, but not identical to the docked ships in the Set 1 of this Ancient Persian Harbor series of models. The position of the sail yard arms, and some of the rigging is changed for all of the ships. The second group of objects are three small pieces of terrain intended for use in the background. These terrain pieces have the same coloring as the terrain of the Lighthouse in Set 1, but these are designed to portray the far side of the River. Tiny buildings representing continuation of the ancient Persian city are set into a bay of the central terrain piece. There are three additional buildings for the Harbor. Two of these are relatively simple utility buildings intended to help fill in a waterfront scene. These have front and back sides. They can be duplicated and positioned in various ways to create the sense of a crowded waterfront. The third building is much more complex. It is a Shipwright's Building, a place where ships are built and repaired. Typically, a shipwright's building is full of many small items: tools, boats and parts of ships under construction or repair, pieces of wood, pots of oil and varnish, and various boat parts. This building is no exception. It contains different kinds of wooden mallets, a small hand adze, six different chisels, three different clay pots of oil and varnish, and four different kinds of baskets. There also is a paddle and other boats parts. Any of these small items can be positioned as desired, or saved out and used in other scenes. These small items are pictured in the *.pdf document titled "Ancient Persian - The City Harbor - Set 2." These models are in *.fbx file format (FBX Version 2020) with the principal materials/textures embedded within the model. The materials are in PBR (“physically based rendering” metallic-roughness) format. A more complete suite of the PBR maps for each material can be found in a second zip file for this set of models. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Any application capable of importing and displaying models in the *.fbx 2020 version file format. INSTALLATION: Unpack the contents of the two zip files in a directory of your choosing. USAGE TIPS: All these models are in *.fbx file format and have embedded materials typically made up of a Base Color Map, a Normal Map and a Roughness Map. The second zip file contains a more complete suite of maps for each material. These additional maps include "metallic maps," "opacity maps," "light emission maps" and "ambient occlusion maps" where these are appropriate to the materials. Most modern rendering engines have their own specialized shaders for glass, water and metals, and some have shaders for candle flames or lights. To make more accurate renders of the models in this set, you should replace the glass and water materials on these models with the appropriate shaders in your own rendering engine.
