The common name is derived from the Anglo-Saxon 'foxes glofa' meaning foxes gloves, and refers to the tubular flowers, which are suggestive of the gloves of a small animal. The flowers were also known as witches' thimbles by Medieval herbalists. Although toxic, the foxglove has been widely used in folk medicine as a cure for sore throats, as compresses for bruising and ulcers, and as a diuretic; it was, however, often fatal. The active agents in foxglove, known as digitoxin and digoxin are still used in modern medicine to control heart rate. This plant is common in western and south western Europe. Very widespread throughout Britain. It has been spread to many other temperate places, including the Americas and Australia. This plant thrives in acidic soils in a range of habitats including open woods, woodland clearings, moorland, heath margins, hedge banks, sea-cliffs, waste land, rocky mountain slopes and hedgebanks. It is common in disturbed sites, or on burnt ground. Despite its toxicity, it is often grown in gardens. There are 16 models in this set: 5x Standard. Fully mature and in good health. The models will appear as Props. Also present are all the material presets used in all models. This will allow you to load a different material overwriting the default. For example, you may load a "Dread Tree" model, select one of the dead foliage materials in the material editor and overwrite it with and autumn material. Please note that this is an example and this product may not include a "Dead Tree" model or "Autumn" material; the principle is the same though for any model or material.
