To load a Material, select your object in the Pose tab of the main interface, and click on the Materials tab to go to the materials room. Click on the portion of the object you wish to apply a new material to. The relevant material will become the active material. Now browse to the "Magic Mirror" folder of the materials library, and then select a sub-folder. Once the preview thumbnails are loaded, double-click on the material you wish to use to apply it to your object. Please consult your Poser 5 manual for more info on using materials. Tips: Raytraced reflections use a lot of memory, expect longer render times than usual. A 1.33 GHZ Processer with 512 MB or more of RAM or better is recommended. Materials on smoothed objects using the Fractal Sum node may cause a "speckled" effect when reflected in a second object. When this happens, unchecking the "smooth polys" option in the render settings Poser 5 version 1.04 or later), or turning up the quality setting on the reflect node of the second object's material will help relieve the effect. Rendering without smoothing polys is also recommended when posible to speed render times. Materials using patterned effects may need to have their settings scaled up or down to achieve the desired output on a given object. The same material will look different when applied to different objects. Some scaling of node settings may be neccesary to achieve the results you expect. Keep in mind the fact that for an object to show a reflection, there must be something in the scene to reflect. Use of a sky dome or cyclorama prop is recommended for best effect in outdor scenes. The included bonus Magic Mirror 1 prop uses a transmap to occlude the outer edges of the mirror face. While this may work better against a dark background, a slight reflection may occur if the mirror is placed against a light colored object or the specular color of the mirror's face is left at the default white.
