Luxury Reception Hall (Poser, 3DS & OBJ) Copyright Ownership belongs to RPublishing. This product was originally created by ratracer and acquired through VanishingPoint. A stylish reception hall in lavish detail and mood, complete with furniture - with openable drawers. The Hall is a scene with style in all levels: design, modelling, lighting, texturing... and variety. Plus, the room itself is presented in 10 different props, ie, the same geometry but with different materials applied. It's almost like having 10 different rooms. Don't forget to check the promo pictures to get a sample of the diversity of the decor. But, the diversity of decor doesn't end there, since most the room props (the ones named "room something", ie those different from just "room") have their texture application in a way to allow you to apply more different materials or textures to the room (the one named simply "room" also allows that but it doesn't fit so good). While the style of architecture and design of the room is similar to my previous "Luxury Office" product, all objects (ie chair, table, desk, etc.) are, in fact, different. 4 figures (from October 2004 update) 55 props (39 original, 16 new props from August 2004 update) 7 Light sets (4 light sets for daylight and 3 light sets for nightlight) 6 camera sets 43 materials (39 original, 4 new materials from October 2004 update) The hall into separate walls, window frame, ceiling and floor. Also included 2 more window frames and a revised door: 16 props in total. New figures for desk and file cabinets with openable drawers and doors; also a vase and plant; a 4 new materials and 8 new textures. c:\program files\smith micro\poser) with option "Use Folder Names" checked ON. (Note: prior of getting the lights, better delete the existing lights) You can load the desk and file cabinet from the Props or the Figures. They have basically the same mesh, but probably you will prefer the newer ones (ie loadable from Figures), since these have openable drawers. In fact, the desk and file cabinets figures are composed of several (parented) props. Get the props from Runtime\libraries\props\RPublishing\The Reception Hall (ie in Poser, click "Props" folder, then "RPublishing" folder, then "The Reception Hall" folder. Get the figures (with included props) from the "figures" folder, then "RPublishing", then "The Reception Hall". To add each figure to the scene, select the desired figure clicking it once, and then click on the symbol with the double tick (at the bottom of the menu). Get the light sets and camera much the same way as the props: from their folders Light Sets and Camera Sets and clicking within those folders "RPublishing" folder and "The Reception Hall" folder. The suggested way to build a scene is the following: Load the figures: Desk (figure).cr2 File Cabinet A (figure).cr2 File Cabinet B (figure).cr2 Vase and Plant.cr2 Load the props: Glass.pp2 book.pp2 chair.pp2 day.pp2 (or night.pp2) door.pp2 (or door (new).pp2) inside curtains.pp2 lamp.pp2 lampsets.pp2 mag.pp2 outside curtains.pp2 painting.pp2 papers.pp2 pen.pp2 penholder.pp2 phone.pp2 (note: this prop is a bit more complex than the others, therefore heavy) phonebook.pp2 room.pp2 (or Room (alternate materials).pp2 or Room WOODm2.pp2 or Room YELw.pp2 or room MARBLEa.pp2 or room PURPLE.pp2 or room ROSEm.pp2 or room WOODm.pp2 or room WOODw.pp2 or room YELm.pp2) (see the below to know how to use the new props instead of the "room" ones) sofa 1.pp2 sofa 2.pp2 stapler1.pp2 stapler2.pp2 table.pp2 You still have props for desk and file cabinets in the props folder: desk.pp2 (or desk alternate mat.pp2) filecab1.pp2 (or filecab1 alternate mat.pp2) filecab2.pp2 (or filecab2 alternate mat.pp2) Also, as extra prop: extra wall lamp.pp2 With 10 room props, each with a different material combination, you can get quite a variation of decors. You can always play around more, applying the materials you want. You can use any of the room props for that, except the one named simply "room" since its texture application is different from the others and won't get such good results. All promo pictures were made using the "Poser4 renderer" (instead of Firefly). To me, there is quite a lot of objects and lights to make the scene heavy enough to avoid the Firefly. Also, as the scene is, there shouldn't be significant difference in quality between the 2 renderers. So, use the "Poser4 renderer" in this way: When using the Daylight light sets set Shadows to ON, when using Nightlights Light sets set Shadows to OFF. There are 16 newer props. One of those - door (new).pp2 - is self-explanatory, since it is an alternate of door.pp2. However, the other props - the ones that are named "0 xxxx" and are meant give more detailed info: Instead of using a "room" prop, which is an object that represents walls, floor, ceiling and window frame, you can now use, for instance: 0 wall A gen.pp2 0 wall B gen.pp2 0 wall C gen.pp2 0 wall D gen.pp2 0 ceiling gen.pp2 0 floor gen.pp2 0 window frame 1.pp2 (if one of those elements gets in the way of your desired camera view, just don't load it into the scene). Now, you may reasonably ask: why having two props for the same object, like why "0 wall A gen" and "0 wall wood"? The reason is that the suffixed "gen" and "wood" have differences in the texture UV mapping. If you want a wall totally with a wood material preferably use walls "0 wall x wood", and if you want the rose and marble materials, for instance, use walls "0 wall x gen". Ditto for the ceiling. The floor props have slightly differnt nomenclature, suffixed "gen" and "motif", because the floor can have that specific motif material. The window frames "2" and "3" are new window frames, the "0 window frame 1" being equal to the original. All promo pictures were made using the "Poser renderer" (instead of Firefly).
