This set represents a complete hotel lobby. It is inspired by the Bauhaus style. You can also see it as a modern revisitation of Art Deco style. Composed of several areas, the reception, the bar, the lounge space, the small breakfast restaurant and decorated with several types of sofas, chairs and plants, not forgetting the small details like the bottles in the bar, the clocks in the wall, etc. It also allows a decent freedom for the placement of all props. Besides that, this set is not just an interior scene since it also includes the exterior building, the streetwalk and street. Easy to apply! Just load the figures. c:\program files\poser 5) with option "Use Folder Names" checked ON. (Note: prior of getting the lights, better delete the existing lights) The scene is loaded from figures. Get the figures (and included props) from the "figures" folder, then "RPublishing", then "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby" or "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby Alternatives". To add each figure to the scene, select the desired figure clicking it once, and then click on the symbol with the double tick (at the bottom of the menu). Get the light sets and camera sets: from their folders Light Sets and Camera Sets and clicking within those folders "RPublishing" folder and "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby" folder. To apply different materials to the props, you have first to select the figure where the props belong to. 1. Complete "standard" scene - "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby" figures folder To create the complete scene you just have to load all the figures that reside in the "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby" figures folder. These are: Bar with stools.cr2 Ceiling Floor and Walls.cr2 Entrance.cr2 Entrance.png Lift.cr2 Plants in round vases.cr2 Reception.cr2 Restaurant Tables and Chairs.cr2 Wall Light Fixtures.cr2 clocks.cr2 small table and red chairs.cr2 street and bldg structure.cr2 2. Alternatives to "standard" scene - "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby Alternatives" figures folder You also have alternatives to the “standard” figures listed above. These reside in the "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby Alternatives" figures folder. These are: Ceiling Floor and Walls Alt.cr2 Extra Wall Light Fixtures.cr2 Extra Walls instead of Windows.cr2 Plants in square vases.cr2 Use them, like so: 2.1. Instead of “Plants in round vases” (of the "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby" figures folder), load “Plants in square vases” (from the "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby Alternatives" figures folder) 2.2. To have the floors, windows with different materials than the standard "Ceiling Floor and Walls" (of the "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby" figures folder), load "Ceiling Floor and Walls Alt" (from the "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby Alternatives" figures folder) 2.3. If you don’t want the window glasses, just load the “Extra Walls instead of Windows” figure (from the "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby Alternatives" folder) - you can delete (or not) the “outglass …” props that belong to the “ceiling floor and walls” figure, since they will not be visible, after loading the “extra walls” figure. In this case, also load the "Extra Wall Light Fixtures" to have lamps in those walls. 3. Extra props - "Bauhaus Hotel Lobby Extras" props folder There are also, in the props folder, “isolated” props (like plants, tables, chairs, etc.) to give you an extra way of "filling the space". All of these are load more or less in the middle of the scene, for you to place them at your choosing. Still in the props folder there are also some "floor" props as alternative to the one included in the figures. 4. Materials Although all props come already with materials applied, in the Materials Room there are also all the materials that the props have. Plus a few more that can be thought as alternatives. 5. Camera and light sets The Camera Sets are named according the object or area they focus on, so they are self-explanatory. The light sets can be divided into three types: Light from light fixtures from wall: Global and Wall 01 A.lt2 - softer lighting all round. Global and Wall 01 B.lt2 - some walls are more brightly lit, while others have softer lighting. Global and Wall 02.lt2 - slightly brighter then 01 A Global and Wall 01 Extra Walls.lt2 - similar to 01 A, but with a few more lights - to be used if you load "Extra Walls instead of Windows" and "Extra Light Fixtures" Global and Wall 02 Extra Walls.lt2 - similar to 02, but with a few more lights - to be used if you load "Extra Walls instead of Windows" and "Extra Light Fixtures" Light from Ceiling: Ceiling.lt2 Light from outside (Sun) - These lights are mainly to be used to light the restaurant area: Sun Infinite Global Front.lt2 - Lights front of the building with Infinite Light Sun Spot Global Front.lt2 - Lights front of the building with Spot Light Sun Infinite Global Side 02.lt2 - Lights side of the building with Infinite Light Sun Spot Global Side 01.lt2 - Lights side of the building with Spot Light Sun Spot Global Side 02.lt2 - Lights side of the building with Spot Light (at a slightly different angle from 01) GLobal soft lights: global light circle.lt2 Important Note: Although all these light sets have lights with shadows ON, only the "Sun" lights make a difference with shadows. So, in order to save rendering time, and with negligenciable difference, you can render with shadows OFF if you use the other light sets. Additional Notes: a) There are lots of materials that can alternatively applied to the props, specially the floors and walls of the inner room, since all props have already the adequate texture mapping for alternative materials. b) The figures have one prop that is the parent: usually, it is the "floor" on that figure (moving the floor will move all the props within that figure) c) This product includes several maps that can be used as backgrounds. To use them, Import>Background> and then select one of the following: sky 5 square.jpg sky6 square.jpg sunset.jpg Notes on Rendering: All promo pictures were made using the "Poser renderer" (instead of Firefly), with AntiAlias ON. Shadows set to ON only when using "SUn" lights, and shadows set of OFF for the other light sets. Due to the fact the the restaurant tables render with imperfect results with Firefly, I recommend the Poser renderer. Test renders were done with other applications, like 3ds Max or Cinema4D, and they produced good results. Only with Firefly, did the renderings of the restaurant tables came bad.
