Long description:

Estemmenosuchus, meaning "Crowned Crocodile", is a genus of large omnivorous therapsid or mammal-like reptile (not a dinosaur). It lived during the Middle Permian period (255 million years ago). It was the largest animal of its day, up to 4 m (13 feet), and is characterised by distinctive horns-like structures, probably for intra-specific display. Two species of Estemmenosuchus are known, both from the Perm region of Russia.
