GROTTO'S INSECTOID is packaged with his own custom morphs and DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY MICHAEL 4 MORPH ADD ON PACKAGES to operate. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation Instructions for Poser: MAC USERS-IMPORTANT: DO NOT PROCEED without first reading the special Poser MAC installation instructions at the end of this Readme. 1) To install the product, extract the zip file (G INSECTOID) into your Poser root directory. When prompted, choose overwrite. (MAC Users: Please see the special Poser Macintosh installation instructions at the end of this Readme*). 2) Load DAZ3d's Michael 4 figure. 3) In Poser navigate to Pose/G INSECTOID INJ. Double click to open it then double click G INSECTOID MATL to load all textures. Finally, double click G INSECTOID MORPHS to load the morphs. 4) SAVE YOUR FIGURE!!!! Be sure to save your figure at this point to avoid having to repeat this installation: In Poser open The Figures Menu. Click the + symbol at the bottom of the figure menu. In the box that pops up change the new set name to GROTTO'S INSECTOID and click OK.. That's all there is to it! GROTTO'S INSECTOID is saved and ready to use. GROTTO'S INSECTOID'S EXCLUSIVE BLAST RIFLE can be found in the Props directory in the folder titled 'G INSECTOID". In it you will find 2 versions; a standard prop version ands a "parented" prop version that will automatically position itself to GROTTO'S INSECTOID's right hand. Use this 'parented" version with all body poses that have the word "Weapon" in the title. For example: the pose called "RUN WITH WEAPON". NOTE: BE SURE TO LOAD GROTTO'S INSECTOID FIRST- AND THEN THE RIFLE (IN THAT ORDER) OR THE RIFLE WILL NOT PARENT ITSELF TO THE HAND! IMPORTANT!! -- PLEASE READ ----- USING THE MORPH DIALS (Poser}: Because of the radical alteration of the face, especially the eyes, some of GROTTO'S INSECTOID's facial morphs must be morphed together with other body parts to work properly. The eyes and eyebrows, for instance must be morphed as a unit or else the eyes may "poke through" the brows or there may be a gap between the eye and the brow. To accomplish this (multiple part morphing) simply operate GROTTO'S INSECTOID custom morph dials from the "Body" morph section - NOT the individual body part sections!! The "Body" dials link all applicable body parts together and will morph them as a unit. As a reminder I have labled any dials that should not be used as: "MORPH NAME (use body dial)". To locate the "Body" dial section in POSER open the Perameter Dials from the toolbar at the top of the Poser interface (Window/Perameter Dials) then click on the body part below the display window. In the resulting window box select "Body". Then in the resulting Dials window select "INJection Channels/Community. Scroll down and you will find all of the GROTTO'S INSECTOID custom morphs. For convienance, ALL of the GROTTO'S INSECTOID custom morph dials can be operated from the BODY dial section. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ADVANCED USERS - RECOMENDED JOINT ADJUSTMENTS: The following joint adjustments are not absolutly necessary to operate your GROTTO'S INSECTOID but will allow for smoother bends in the wrists and toes and are highly recommended. (You may wish to print this section for easy reference before you begin joint adjustments). First, select the GROTTO'S INSECTOID' RIGHT TOE (rToe). From the top menu select WINDOW/JOINT EDITOR. In the white box at the top of the Joint Editor where it says "Center" select "Bend". Uncheck the box that says "Use Spherical Falloff Zones". Now change the Joint Angles as follows: Static A: 333.00 Dynamic B: 254.00 Dynamic C: 83.00 Static D: 49.00 Now select the GROTTO'S INSECTOID' RIGHT HAND (Right Hand). In the Joint Editor select "side to side" and change the Joint Angles as follows: Static A: 309.00 Dynamic B: 274.00 Dynamic C: 92.00 Static D: 24.00 . Click the "X" to close the Joint Editor. Finally, to copy your settings to the left side also, from the top menu bar select FIGURE/SYMMETRY/RIGHT TO LEFT. In the box that asks you; "Do You Want To Copy The Joint Zones Setup Also" click YES. SAVE YOUR FIGURE!!!! Be sure to save your figure at this point (Even if you had previously saved it) to avoid having to repeat this adjustment: In Poser open The Figures Menu. Click the + symbol at the bottom of the figure menu. In the box that pops up, change the new set name to GROTTO'S INSECTOID and click OK.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAZ Studio Installation Instructions: MAC USERS-IMPORTANT: DO NOT PROCEED without first reading the special DAZ Studio MAC installation instructions at the end of this Readme. There may be more than one way to install GROTTO'S INSECTOID on DAZ Studio but this is the method I use: 1) Create a folder on your desktop and name it: "Poser Content" 2) From the DAZ Studio interface select: Edit/Preferences then in the resulting dialog box select the "directories" tab. 3) For the Content Type use the dropdown menu to select "Poser Formats (Import)". 4) Click "Add" and then navigate to the folder that you created on your desktop called "Poser Content". Click "Apply" and "Accept". 5) Extract the G INSECTOID Zip file into the Poser Content folder that you created. 6) Restart DAZ Studio. You will find the GROTTO'S INSECTOID files under "Content/Poser Content". 7) To apply the morphs to Michael 4, simply Load Michael 4 and select: Content/Poser Content/Poses/G INSECTOID INJ. Then click "G INSECTOID MORPHS" To Apply the Morphs and Click "G INSECTOID MATL" TO APPLY THE TEXTURES. Be sure to save your figure to avoid having to repeat this installation! To PARENT THE BLAST RIFLE to the right hand in DAZ Studio: 1) Zero the GROTTO'S INSECTOID FIGURE: Select the "Pose/Animate" tab. Then from the Perameters window click the small arrow at the top of the window. In the resulting dropdown window click "Restore/Restore Figure Pose" (this will zero the figure). 2) Import the BLASTER (SMART) prop into the scene {Be sure to use the "Smart" version- The standard Blaster will not import in the correct position! 3) Right click on the Blaster. In the resulting drop down menu select "Change Parent". In the resulting window choose MICHAEL 4s (INSECTOID'S) Right Hand and click "Accept". The gun is now parented to the right hand and will move with the figure when the poses are applied. IMPORTANT!! -- PLEASE READ ----- USEING THE MORPH SLIDERS (DAZ Studio): Because of the radical alteration of the face, especially the eyes, some of GROTTO'S INSECTOID's facial morphs must be morphed together with other body parts to work properly. The eyes and eyebrows, for instance must be morphed as a unit or else the eyes may "poke through" the brows or there may be a gap between the eye and the brow. To accomplish this (multiple part morphing) simply operate GROTTO'S INSECTOID custom morph sliders from the "Body" morph section - NOT the individual body part sections!! The "Body" sliders link all applicable body parts together and will morph them as a unit. As a reminder I have labeled any sliders that should not be used as: "MORPH NAME (use body dial)". To locate the "Body" slider section in DAZ Studio click the Pose/Animate tab at the top left of the interface. The "body" sliders can be found by double clicking on the figure then in the slider box scroll down to INJection Channels/Community.You will find all of the GROTTO'S INSECTOID custom morphs there. For convienance, ALL of the GROTTO'S INSECTOID custom morph sliders can be operated from the BODY slider section. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- USER TIPS & TRICKS: You can change GROTTO'S INSECTOID'S appearance by experimenting with the Cranium, Eye Spacing and Eye Size dials provided. GROTTO'S INSECTOID'S hands can be made "human" via the "Hands human" dial. For test renders use the "Draft" render setting to save render time. For great final renders, be sure to use the "Production Render" setting. This will greatly improve texture quality. Be sure that "shadows" is turned on. Also remember to avoid "Flat" lighting. Experiment with lights to bring out highlights and shadows. GROTTO'S INSECTOID'S CUSTOM POSES can be found in the Poser pose directory under "G INSECTOID POSES". GROTTO'S INSECTOID'S HAND POSES can be found in the Poser hands directory under "G INSECTOID HANDS". GROTTO'S INSECTOID'S EYE COLOR POSES can be found in the Poser pose directory under "G INSECTOID EYES". The BLAST RIFLE prop (Smart & Standard) can be found in the Poser Props Directory under "G INSECTOID" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KNOWN ISSUES AND LIMITATIONS: Because the geometry has been so radically altered, most of the Michael 4 standard facial morphs no longer work- Please be sure to use the custom facial morphs provided. When useing hand poses you may get a false incompatability error- Ignore it and apply the pose- the hand poses work great! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Files included in this package are: \Runtime\libraries\G INSECTOID\Body\Deltas\ HANDS HUMAN.PZ2 HANDS HUMAN.rsr HEAD LARGER.PZ2 HEAD LARGER.rsr INSECTOID.PZ2 INSECTOID.rsr \Runtime\libraries\G INSECTOID\Head\Deltas\ BROW ANGRY.PZ2 BROW ANGRY.rsr BROW SURPRISE.PZ2 BROW SURPRISE.rsr BROW WORRY.PZ2 BROW WORRY.rsr CRANIUM 2.PZ2 CRANIUM 2.rsr CRANIUM 3.PZ2 CRANIUM 3.rsr CRANIUM LARGE.PZ2 CRANIUM LARGE.rsr EYES APART.PZ2 EYES APART.rsr EYES SMALLER.PZ2 EYES SMALLER.rsr MOUTH OPEN.PZ2 MOUTH OPEN.rsr \Runtime\libraries\hand\G INSECTOID HANDS\ CASUAL.hd2 CASUAL.png CLAW.hd2 CLAW.png CURL 2.hd2 CURL 2.png CURL.hd2 CURL.png FIST.hd2 FIST.png FLAT.hd2 FLAT.png GRIP HANDLE.hd2 GRIP HANDLE.png HOLD WEAPON.hd2 HOLD WEAPON.png POINT.hd2 POINT.png \Runtime\libraries\Pose\G INSECTOID EYES\ BLK.PZ2 BLK.png GRN.png GRN.pz2 PRP.png PRP.pz2 RED.png RED.pz2 YL.png YL.pz2 \Runtime\libraries\Pose\G INSECTOID INJ\ G INSECTOID MATL.png G INSECTOID MATL.pz2 G INSECTOID MATL.rsr G INSECTOID MORPHS.png G INSECTOID MORPHS.pz2 G INSECTOID MORPHS.rsr Thumbs.db \Runtime\libraries\Pose\G INSECTOID POSES\ CRAWL WEAPON.png CRAWL WEAPON.pz2 DEAD 2.png DEAD 2.pz2 DEAD.png DEAD.pz2 FIRES WEAPON HIGH.png FIRES WEAPON HIGH.pz2 FIRES WEAPON LOW.png FIRES WEAPON LOW.pz2 HAND TO HAND 2.png HAND TO HAND 2.pz2 HAND TO HAND COMBAT.png HAND TO HAND COMBAT.pz2 HELP ME 2.png HELP ME 2.pz2 HELP ME.png HELP ME.pz2 HOLDS WEAPON.png HOLDS WEAPON.pz2 MONSTER 2.png MONSTER 2.pz2 MONSTER POSE.png MONSTER POSE.pz2 NEUTRAL.png NEUTRAL.pz2 POINTING.png POINTING.pz2 POINTS (WEAPON).png POINTS (WEAPON).pz2 RUN WITH WEAPON.png RUN WITH WEAPON.pz2 RUNNING.png RUNNING.pz2 SHOT (WEAPON).png SHOT (WEAPON).pz2 SHOT FROM BACK.png SHOT FROM BACK.pz2 SHOT FROM FRONT.png SHOT FROM FRONT.pz2 STAND AT ATTENTION.png STAND AT ATTENTION.pz2 STELTH (WEAPON).png STELTH (WEAPON).pz2 \Runtime\libraries\props\G INSECTOID\ BLASTER SMART.png BLASTER SMART.pp2 BLASTER.png BLASTER.pp2 Thumbs.db \|Runtime\textures\GROTTO 3D\INSECTOID MATS\ BlastRifle_Insectoid.jpg Insectoid_eyes.jpg Insectoid_eyesBLK.jpg Insectoid_eyesPL.jpg Insectoid_eyesRD.jpg Insectoid_eyesYL.jpg Insectoid_face.jpg Insectoid_facebmp.jpg Insectoid_limbs.jpg Insectoid_limbsbmp.jpg Insectoid_torso.jpg Insectoid_torsobmp.jpg Thumbs.db \Runtime\textures\GROTTO 3D\ Thumbs.db GROTTO'S INSECTOID Readme.txt License Agreement.txt ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With GROTTO'S INSECTOID I have again attempted to push the boundries of Poser character creation.
