"Got Mics?" Created 2009 by PrincessWorks All of this product's content was created by PrincessWorks aka nomuse Description: This is a set of detailed professional-grade microphones and stands, with associated cables and hardware, as would be used in a live stage or recording studio situation. System Requirements: This product is OS-insensitive, as it contains only Poser library content and supporting files. As it makes extensive use of Poser 6 shader nodes, correct rendering is not warranted on other versions of Poser; particularly versions prior to Poser 5, nor is it warranted to render correctly in DAZStudio. Required Secondary Products: None. Installation: Extract the zip file to a designated Runtime folder, or in the case of a Macintosh operating system, to a new folder on the hard drive, and manually place the sub-folders within the Runtime of your choice. Notes and Usage: For most scenes you will probably find the pre-posed sets in the folder "Pre-Posed_Mic_Sets" will suffice. These are complete with microphone, clip, stand, and pre-draped cable, already posed for specific audio applications. Of course you can adjust them, add to them, and so forth in developing a complete scene. But, really, half the fun of doing sound is setting up things yourself. You will find fully poseable stands in the "Stage_Mics" folder in Characters, and smart-prop microphones that will snap to them in the "Stage_Mics" folder that is in Props. There are also foam windscreens, a monitor wedge, Easy-Pose microphone cable, and a few other odds-and-ends to dress up your final scene. However, to get the full effect of the sets I created for the "Pre-Posed_Mic_Sets" folder, you will need to go into Poser's Cloth Room. Don't panic; I've included a full tutorial on .pdf in this folder on how to smoothly drape microphone cables about for a truly realistic look. Of course talent doesn't always leave the microphones in the stands. In the props folder you will also find a smart-prop solution for several of the most common figures. The "Smart_Clips" are invisible smart-props that Poser thinks are mic clips. To use these, first import the figure you are using. Then apply the SmartClip for that figure. Then switch to the regular "Stage_Mics" folder and click on the microphone of your choice. The microphone will snap to the figure's hand just like an ordinary smart prop. The above, however, are naked mics. To get a microphone with a fully posable cable already attached to it, go to the Figures folder and open the "Conforming_Mic_Sets" folder. In here, you will find conforming figures to fit some of the more common figures. How these work, is that the conforming figure is an invisible figure that already has a microphone smart-propped to it, and a fully posable cable smart-propped to the microphone in turn. Simple select the "SmartMic" appropriate to your figure of choice and conform. After that, it is all about posing the cable. (Again, the included tutorial should help you here.) In case none of this trickery supports the specific figure or situation you are working on, then you can just move the mic and associated hardware manually, and parent them as seems useful yourself.
