However there are limitations with all 3d software and one of these is with the way glass refracts and reflects. We have included interior stimulation to avoid light showing through the windows, and the simulation features the typical kind of objects found close behind windows such as curtains and blinds. There may be times when the glass (and very rarely the window frames) doesn't always look as good as it could do. The issue is mostly dependant on the camera angle and the lighting used. The interior stimulation mesh has been given a 100% strength. The glass has been given a texture map using white or light grey object colour, with texture strength variations (starting from 24%) and Transparency MAX (starting from 33%). In the event despite your expirements the glass still doesn't look right. The trick is to give a near black approach. Set the Object Colour to Black on the glass. Remove or lower the texture to lowish values and increase or decrease the Transparency MAX until you find a setting to suit. Set the highlight size to Zero. Repeat for all windows. If reflections appear on the window frames, adjust the Highlight settings. This work-around isn't a new idea either. It's history lesson time. To avoid paying Window Tax [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Window_tax] in 17th Century England and later on, because making and buying truely flat glass * was expensive, to save money builders would brick up a window frame and paint a window on it. Typically used on high windows, the black 'glass' and white 'frame' could fool the eye enough. and the same effect works today. * Ever seen those small circular beer bottomed glass windows in pubs ? Thats not a snazzy design feature, thats because it was the cheapest and strongest glass at the time. Enough to let light in, strong enough to resist the tavern goers! -------------------- USEAGE RESTRICTIONS: -------------------- You may use this package in any commercial or non commercial renders.
