Minotaur model for Poser 4 and above, OBJ Software, VUE & 3DS Copyright Ownership belongs to RPublishing. This product was originally acquired through VanishingPoint. Directions: Extract the files into the specified folders: Put the obj files into Runtime\Geometries\VP\VP_Minotaur Put the cr2/ rsr/ png (figure files) into Runtime\Libraries\Character\VP_Minotaur Put the pz2/ rsr/ png (pose files) into Runtime\Libraries\Pose\VP-Minotaur Put the jpg files (textures) into Runtime\Textures\VP\VP_Minotaur Using the figure: 1) Navigate to your figures library and load the Minotaur figure. There are two versions, the Minotaur figure does not have the axe in his hand, and the Minotaur_Armed figure has this already parented to the figure, ready for posing. 2) Then switch to the poses folder and apply one of the poses or animation files for the Minotaur. The Minotaur uses and accepts most standard Poser poses and BVH files with some tweaking, but his body parts correspond to standard Poser figures, so some DAZ3D millinium poses that feature the double neck joints will give strange results. The arms have to be moved out using the Side2Side dials in most poses. 3) The figure uses bump maps. 4) Render with polygon smoothing "off". Animating Notes When setting up animations, I suggest keeping the "use limits" on, and only taking this off for extreme poses. The figure has IK chains for the legs and arms, and the leg IK chains are off by default when loading the character. Important note This model has less than 2400 polygons. It has been tested on a Pentium III, 768 Mhz, 256 MB machine and it was possible on that machine to load and render 50 copies of the figure in one scene, using raytracing in the Firefly engine, and a 600 x 600 pixel render took less than 12 minutes. So this model is intended for medium to long distance shots, and animations, especially when you need many figures in a scene, and is not intended for close facial work, talking style animations, or for extreme realism.
