Coastal for Cyclorama by HandspanStudios 2/18/2010 This contains material presets for Poser 4 and up and Daz Studio. To assemble the scene start by loading the forest scene (or any cyclorama scene with the 3 planes visible) then add the Mat Pose, pose and finally camera for either Point Lobos or the Coastal Falls. These are set up for a scene of landscape orientation and proportions 800x615 and similar. You can set your scene window to 800x615 and then check "constrain aspect ratio" and then make the largest number larger or smaller until you get the size you want. For instance if you make the 800 number 1000 with aspect ratio checked you will not need to repose anything. The falls scene can also be rendered in a portrait orientation and a second camera preset has been included for that purpose (615x800). Other sizes/proportions are possible but will require posing the elements and fiddling with the camera a little. The transmapped planes in the point lobos scene are intended to stay about where they are at. If you move them around so that other colors are behind them they might not look right, also the yellow plant is casting a shadow if you leave it in front of the tree trunk but that won't be the case once it's moved. It's really there to make the blend between the ground and the trunk work better. I strongly recommend setting the "shading rate" to 0 in the properties dialog box (which you will find on a tab behind the parameters window) for best texture results. Do this for cyclorama and for each plane. If you do not see a tree trunk and a flower in your Point Lobos scene it means that one or more of the 3 planes has visible turned off. Just find the planes under cyclorama body parts and make sure "visible" is checked in the properties dialog box. If you want to leave out the trunk or the flower just turn visibility off there. The falls scene does not use any of the smaller planes. When using with Daz Studio just use the import function for the pose and camera, with the main camera selected choose file>import and browse to the camera file, same thing with the cyclorama selected file>import>browse to the pz2 file. If you set your render proportions to 800x615 it should all look right. There are mats included for Daz Studio. I used my photos taken between 2003-2007 on my various trips up the coast. The falls are near Big Sur and the other scene is at Point Lobos which is near Carmel. The beautiful purple flower grows all over there, it's called Pride of Madeira and the bloom stalks are very large, ranging from 6 inches to 24, so you can use that a little to size your figure. It is not a purple lupine flower which is a much smaller but similar looking wildlflower. Pride of Madeira is not an indigenous wild flower but a garden flower that has naturalized so well that you can't think of the place without it. The cyclorama is made to create the illusion that there is a lot of ground in a very small area. It can make scaling your figure a little tricky. If the figure is intended to be in the foreground you will need to scale it up larger and down if you want to place it way out at the waters edge.
