1) Cogs N Gears c 2010 MrSparky ---------------------------------- 2) Author Name: ---------------------------------- MrSparky --------------------------- 3) Product Description --------------------------- This product contains 50 assorted cogs and gears in 2 formats. It's been designed for use as a way of quickly adding cogs and gears to your scenes, or as a source of meshes for your modelling projects. The first format is for Poser/Studio [.PP2 props]. These load with one of 5 starter textures at 1024x1024. All models load at human figure size to make rescaling and movement easier for you. Created by one of Kastaway's Perl mesh creating scripts, the 2nd format is native .OBJ. The meshes have single groups and zero material MTL's. Each model has been boxmapped to scale in UVMapper with normals saved and spilt vertexes. The OBJ's are presented this way as some modelling apps have issues with Poser exported OBJ's, especially Poser's method of group naming. This product is also a merchant resource. BTW - don't forget to dowload your free model - the Cogbike (as shown in promo #2) - which demonstrates how this product can be used to make cool stuff. The cogbike is a standlone freebie and doesn't require the Cogs N Gears pack to use. Download here: http://www.sparkyworld.co.uk/addons.htm ----------------------------- 4) System Requirements: ------------------------------ PC, MAC, Poser 4 or Higher. Created in Carrara 5 Pro Tested in Poser 4 Pro Pack, Poser 6 Vue 4, Vue 5 and Vue 5-Infinite. Note: Daz studio users should use the Poser 4 MAT files as a basis for their textures and replace some materials with studio specific shaders. The highlight settings in studio may also need to be adjusted to give the best results. This is not a product flaw, but because studio may not display the Poser maps correctly and displays poser materials differently from native studio files. ----------------------------- 5) Ownership statement ----------------------------- All of this product's content was created by MrSparky ------------------- 6) Needed Files: ------------------- None. -------------------------------- 7) Installation instructions -------------------------------- Unzip the following folders into your Poser directory using paths: Geometries Libraries Textures It will create various directories and files, if you are really bored a list of these can be found at the end of this readme. Do NOT extract the Extobj folder. This folder is for modellers who require more accurate .OBJ files. -------------------------------- 8) Usage Tips/Limitations -------------------------------- No limitations. Usage tips: In poser models load to the size of a human, rescale them to suit. ------ To load the models: 1. Load Poser. 2. Open the Props library. 3. Locate the Cogs_N_Gears folder. 4. To load the model(s) double click on any icon named Gear. ------ Loading the model(s) into Vue: Depending on your version of Vue and Poser. There's two ways to do this... either save your scene in Poser and then just import the Poser scene into Vue. Or export the model from Poser as an .OBJ to any folder of your choice. Place all the textures in that folder. Import that .OBJ into Vue. Rescale the imported model to suit your scene. Loading the model into Carrara: Again this is down to your version of Carrara and Poser and personal preference. Example uses Carrara 5 Pro. In Carrara - > Click File->Import, navigate to the ..\Runtime\Libraries\props\Cogs_N_Gears and load the desired model. The model should load with textures, if not manually apply them or use the Carrara shaders to recolour the model. Other apps using OBJ import: Extract all the .OBJ's from the EXTOBJ directory. Do not extract any other file. Import the desired .OBJ into your application and add your textures or shaders. Rescale the imported model to your needs. ------------- 9) Files list -------------- Readme.txt - this file. Licence.txt - licensing terms for this product.
