-------------------------------------- Product Name: Electro Power for Steam Rifle Copyright 07-19-2011 (c) Robert Blanda By: Robert Blanda Contact: Cybertenko -------------------------------------- System Requirements: PC, Poser 6 and higher, (not tested on MAC) -------------------------------------- Product Description: Hartwig´s Steam Powered Repeater Rifle model 1895 know mostly as Steam Rifle is modular weapon system using one universal core lockwork system "The Engine" and various independent weapon attachement parts like barrels, magazines, stock, optical instruments and so on. Hartwig was asked to produce universal steam powered gun system usable for various kind and calibers od rifles. It was simple task, the resulting engine should be small but powerful enough to propel various kind and calibers of bullets, slugs or pellets shots and also maintain mechanical loading procedure. The system should be as much compact as possible but still realiable and easy to maintain and repair. He started works on such task at the beginning of 1893 and one year later he had the first prototypes. The Engine consisted of three main parts - the body - in which was located universal ammo loading chamber, pressure chamber and pressurizing mechanism as well as ammo loading system. Second part, the boiler was a water tank and gas propelled furnace for producing hot haighly pressurized steam. Finally there was a grip, with trigger mechanism and socket for holding gas bottle for fueling the furnace. With only minor effort, the system can be adapted for holding various caliber insets and types of magazine need for specific type of rifle. The engine was so versatile it can provide steam pressure according task necessary for particular type of rifle - either for singe powerful shot, or for numerous, rapidly successive less powerfull burst. For even stronger punch, weapon can be equiped with steam compensators, which were constructed for gathering surplus steam pressure, concetrated it in secondary pressure tank and releasing it for one even more powerful shot or for rapid fire sequence. Compensators were producued in several variants either for rapid firing weapons (light variants) or for powerful antitank oer anti-material sniper based rifles (medium to heavy variants). There was wide array of various accessories for many Hartwig´s Rifle variant, such ase numerous optical instruments, statives and bipods, stocks, steam condensors, muzzle breaks, silencers and so on. Many of them are presented as part of our model. Electro Power Development of practical use of electricity brings new perspectives to older inventions and construction. This is the case of new equpiment and new devices based on electricty which were constructed by Jason Cartwright at the begining of 20th centrury for still popular Hartwig´s Steam Powered Repeater Rifle. Cartwright invented several contraptions which further increase performance of this famouse weapon system. The most elaborate of them was Cartwright´s Electromagnetic Accelerator which was able to accelerate bullet inside the barrel to supersonic speed and thus increase range of fire and power of the shots. Cartwright experimented with small two-coil accelerator as well as larger four-coil accelerator or even with heavy duty railguns with three accelerators in row thus achieving count of 12 coils used for accelerating the speed of bullet. Next Cartwright´s inventions was focused on charging fired bullet with high-voltage electric charge which brings more deadly force to the gun or magnetising them so it will be guided for the metal surfaces and stick to them, until explosion or concusion effect was reached. You will find the items in Character, Light, Pose and Props folders named Steam Rifle. Geometries, Reflection Maps and Textures are stored in respective folders. This is expansion pack for my previous product Steam Rifle Ultimate Construction Kit which is needed, since it shares some same textures and geometry files. If you install this expansion pack to same runtime you will be asked if you want to overwrite some files. Just confirm that since some textures and geometry files are present both in base and expansion pack. Expansion pack also contains minor update to one of previous props and adds some more barrels for the baisc set. If installed to same runtime, it will add some expansion content folders to previous Steam Rifle directories. All new content is labeled Electro Power. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: Model of Steam Rifle is intended as construction kit for creating almost endless variations of steampunk style, fantasy or sci-fi steam powered rifle or weapon. It consists of three poser figures with movable or hideable bodyparts and larger amount of various props as weapon accessory. Basicaly you need to use the core figure - named "steam rifle engine" with one of four types of stocks (or use it without any stock at all), one of several barrel lenghts and types. Type of barrel determines which forend you can use and what kind of magazine will be the most suitable. This will form the besic shape of weapon, but you can ad other props - accessories as well - optical instruments, muzzle breaks, bipod, bayonets, off-hand handles or several special fantastic "steampunk instruments" like steam condesers or steam compensators. You can apply several distincitve wood or metal material poses to change the look of your weapon. If you need to change material for prop that is not included among mat poses, go to material room and sample the material from the prop and copy it to another. All props are smart parented either to steam rifle engine body or to their logical parent - like optical instruments parented to optical instrument railings. In that case - for collimator, targeting cross, telescope Zaitsev, laser pointer and color filter please apply Optical Device Rail prop first. Muzzle breaks (named end brakes here) are parented to steam rifle engine body and not to barrel so they can be used with any other barrel - you just need to adjust to proper position on barrel axis. Knife bayonet is intended for Forend RIF new variant, while Needle bayonet is intended for Forend RIF old variant. But both bayonet can be used also to different barrel types - knife bayonet works well with Front Sight Ring which have the bayonet railing on the lower side, while the needle bayonet can be applied to almost any barrel (except small bore rifle barrel which is thinner). The same is valid for endbrakes, steam condensers and grenade launcher. Bipod is erc coded figure with two channels in body actor - one is for synchronized opening and folding of bipod legs and second for synchoznized lowering of bipod legs. Bipod figure need be parented either to steam rifle engine body or current barrel type. The third figure is Advanced stock (which need be parented to steam rifle engine body). It has several moving bodyparts for adjusting (and raising or lowering) movable facepad. Ale four type of stock can be folded down so the gas cannister prop can be removed from steam rifle engine grip. This is more logical realistic feature that actualy need for the use of poser model. If you interested in little background - than front feeding magazines - pipes - are used for large caliber shotgun type ammo (pellets and slugs), while lower magazines - cases and drums are used for rifle type ammo - bullets. The heaviest weapon types like anti-tank rifle or anti-material rifle or heavy variation of sniper rifles can be used without any magazine at all since single rounds are loaded manualy into chamber through lid on upper right part of the gun engine. But you can uses any magazine to any type of weapons to your likings. For those fortunate owners of my previous weapon model Steam Dragon - Mechanical Rifle there is possibility to use Dragon´s Tripod mount for Steam Rifle model. Load Steam Dragon Mounted variant and delete steam dragon figure and hose figure. Than hide heavy diffuser body part on tripod - sophisticated Hartwig´s design of Steam Rifle does not needed such equipment, and load Steam Rifle Figure any apply any needed props to it. Instead of front feeding magazines - shotgun pipe magazines - use tripod mount prop. The apply pose "Steam Rifle for Tripod" Steam Rifle Body and it will move the whole weapon to Steam Dragon´s Tripod. Than parent steam rifle body to Tripod´s "gunmout" bodypart and thats it! You can use tripod mount with or wihtout shield. Steam Dragon´s M4 mounted operator poses need be adjusted for proper operation of mounted steam rifle. Steam Rifle is intended for use with M4 model and V4 as well. For use with M4 just load M4 and steam rifle engine figure (or whole before that prepared rifle). Then apply BASE pose to M4 and parent steam rifle engine body to M4´s right hand. After that you can apply any other provided pose - walk or kneeling or any other rifle holding poses. Since there are a lot of possible forends variants (not speaking about off-hand handles) you need to adjust left hand forend holding position to better grip. For using rifle with V4, the procedure is the same, but you will need to move steam rifle model to V4 posistion (slightly lower). For that use "Steam Rifle for V4" pose applied to Steam Rifle Engine body. If you need to apply any other props to already positioned weapon - you need to select steam rifle engine body actor, otherwise the smart prop will not load to proper changed position. There are several props which can be moved (rotated or translated) for better variety - like "optical bench" instruments - collimator, color filters, targeting cross, laser pointer) which can be moved along the the railing or flip aside if currently not needed. You can make your own configuration of optical bench by sliding those instruments to various position along the rail. Night vision props, revolver barrel consists from several props, so these can be moved. On night vision prop you can turn the disc with various objectives and on revolver barrel, you can turn cylinder with ammo props. Other props which consists of several parts are forexample some types of barrels which may have two parts so you can change the barrel length. There are also some individual props for front sights with protective ring around them. This can be removed for more variable look of the barrel. Electro Power Content Usage Tips or Limitation New content consists of various electrical devices and addendum to Steam Rifle basic model. All of them are made as props smart parented to either their own parents or to steam rifle figure body. Two main prop collections are accelerator prop collection (with variants) and end barrel set (either for blunderbuss type barrel or for straight rifle type barrel). Accelerator prop collection loads always to same position, but end barrel solution may needs some adjustment according to chosen barrel length. You slide the main parent (barrel holder prop) along the barrel to needed position. Space between battery forend (which feeds not only accelerator, but also end barrel device) and the end of barrel is "filled" differently accoridng the lentgh of barrel. The shortest rifles (pistole, carabine, short blunderbuss) have transformer prop joined directly to capacitor on barrel holder prop (see promos), longer weapons had additional front batteries prop and power couplings - "cables" prop with proper abbreviations for which rifle types are usable. The best for understanding how each electro rifle is constructed gives you loading each figure preset, where the corret choice of props is used. You can use figure presets for loading base seven types of electrorifles (all loads with all basic props parented, but you can change these props or delete them if you want to achieve different look.) Additionaly you can use independent props or prop collection to further customize your desired weapon. Most of electrical devices have some ambient glowing material zones which nice glows in low density environmental light. Included in this expansion pack is promo used IBL light preset. There are also two new poses (one for M4 and one for V4) Tactical Advance Move which is constructed mostly for use with new prop - tactical flashlight and light beam. This prop can of course be used on basic steam rifle variants (without electro power content) or with slight adjustments also with different weapons models (although this was not tested as not intended). For guides how to use these character poses please refer to previous section. Model is completely UV mapped and uses tiled textures or procedural materials. No texture template is aplicable and needed. One or more textures on this 3D model have been created with images from CGTextures.com. These images may not be redistributed by default, please visit www.cgtextures.com for more information. -------------------------------------- Files Included in the Product: \Documentation Electro_Power_for_Steam_Rifle_README.txt License0409.txt main promo.jpg promothumb4.jpg Steam Rifle EP 1 INTRO.jpg Steam Rifle EP 2 CONCEPT.jpg Steam Rifle EP 3 FEATURES.jpg Steam Rifle EP 4 FEATURES.jpg Steam Rifle EP 5 POSES.jpg Steam Rifle EP 6 LIGHTS AND PROPS.jpg Steam Rifle EP 7 RIFLE TYPES.jpg Steam Rifle EP 8 EXAMPLES.jpg \runtime\Geometries\Steam Rifle accelmount.obj barrel base.obj Barrel CAR.obj barrel epis.obj batforendshort.obj batteryforend.obj batteryholder inlet.obj blunderbusholder.obj blunderbuss cables.obj cables ssr.obj coils1.obj coils2.obj electrocharger.obj flashlight.obj frontbatteries.obj half acc mount.obj input1.obj input2.obj input3.obj input4.obj lightbeam.obj lightning.obj magnetiser.obj riflecables.obj secaccbatts.obj secaccmount.obj snipercables.obj strightbarrelholder.obj transformer.obj \runtime\Libraries\Character\Steam Rifle\Electro Power Presets Anti-Tank Electro Rifle.cr2 Anti-Tank Electro Rifle.png Electro Carabine.cr2 Electro Carabine.png Electro Pistol.cr2 Electro Pistol.png Electro Rifle.cr2 Electro Rifle.png Long Electro Blunderbuss.cr2 Long Electro Blunderbuss.png Sharpshooter Electro Rifle.cr2 Sharpshooter Electro Rifle.png Short Electro Blunderbuss.cr2 Short Electro Blunderbuss.png \runtime\Libraries\Light\Steam Rifle Steam Rifle IBL.lt2 Steam Rifle IBL.png \runtime\Libraries\pose\Steam Rifle\M4 Poses M4 Tactical Advance.png M4 Tactical Advance.pz2 \runtime\Libraries\pose\Steam Rifle\Mat Poses\Stocks and Forends Battery Forend Dark.png Battery Forend Dark.pz2 Battery Forend Fine.png Battery Forend Fine.pz2 Battery Forend Light.png Battery Forend Light.pz2 Pistol Battery Forend Dark.png Pistol Battery Forend Dark.pz2 Pistol Battery Forend Fine.png Pistol Battery Forend Fine.pz2 Pistol Battery Forend Light.png Pistol Battery Forend Light.pz2 \runtime\Libraries\pose\Steam Rifle\V4 Poses V4 Tactical Advance.png V4 Tactical Advance.pz2 \runtime\Libraries\props\Steam Rifle\Barrels Barrel Base.png Barrel Base.pp2 Barrel CAR.png Barrel CAR.pp2 Barrel ePIS.png Barrel ePIS.pp2 \runtime\Libraries\props\Steam Rifle\ElectroPower Barrel Ending Blunderbuss.png Barrel Ending Blunderbuss.pp2 Barrel Ending Rifle.png Barrel Ending Rifle.pp2 Cables ATR.png Cables ATR.pp2 Cables LBB.png Cables LBB.pp2 Cables RIF.png Cables RIF.pp2 Cables SSR.png Cables SSR.pp2 Flashlight OFF.png Flashlight OFF.pp2 Flashlight ON.png Flashlight ON.pp2 Front Batteries.png Front Batteries.pp2 Half Accelerator.png Half Accelerator.pp2 Light Beam.png Light Beam.pp2 Primary Accelerator.png Primary Accelerator.pp2 Secondary Accelerator.png Secondary Accelerator.pp2 Transformer.png Transformer.pp2 \runtime\Textures\Reflection Maps\Steam Rifle enviro.jpg \runtime\Textures\Steam Rifle Bronze.jpg Bronze_B.jpg Bronze_S.jpg copper.jpg darksteel.jpg iron.jpg iron_b.jpg iron_s.jpg lightning.jpg metalplate.jpg metalplate_b.jpg rusted10.jpg rusted10_b.jpg rusted4.jpg rusted4_b.jpg rusted5.jpg rusted5_b.jpg steel.jpg treadtile.jpg treadtile_B.jpg Wooddark.jpg WoodFine.jpg Woodlight.jpg
