Allied Fleets Hangar - Poser,OBJ,3DS,MAX Copyright 2011 Keith Hazelet ============ Author: ============ Keith Hazelet (skynet3020) with poser specific files by Simon Schild (Simon-3D) ============ Product Description: ============ This is a highly detailed 3D (OBJ, 3DS, MAX and Poser formats) model of a large science-fiction hangar. The outside as well as the inside of the hangar are well guarded from outside attack by a series of turrets (all posable). The hangar also has a smaller "sub-hangar" inside of it. This hangar is a hub of activity for Allied Fleets capitol ships. The hangar's scale is defined by railings and walkways along the side, control room structures, as well as the small "crew doors" along the bottom (not to be confused for the larger vehicle doors). Using these, the hangar's size is approximately 44 meters tall, 120 meters wide, and 200 meters deep. The area around the hangar is enough of a starting point to allow easy integration with the hull of any capitol ship. The objects are grouped according to detail level and all objects have UVW mapping coordinates. Textures are included. It is easy to change the color scheme of the ship by modifying the texture bitmaps. The OBJ format provides compatibility with just about every 3D software package but is limited in the fact that there are no lighting or effect options - those must be recreated after importing the model. The 3DS, MAX and Poser formats include all lighting and effects. The MAX version was used to create the product images. There are 129,580 triangles spread across 61 objects. Note :- Conversion to poser by Simon-3D (Simon Schild), Please direct any poser specific questions to Simon-3D ============ System Requirements ============ OBJ VERSION: A software package that can import OBJ files. Most 3D packages will do this, although you may have to "import" the files rather than "open" them. 3DS VERSION: A software package that can import 3ds files. Most 3D packages will do this, although you may have to "import" the files rather than "open" them. MAX VERSION: 3D Studio MAX 2008 or later POSER VERSION: Poser 5+ / Daz Studio 3+ ============ Ownership statements: ============ All of this product's content was created by Keith Hazelet (skynet3020) with poser specific files by Simon Schild (Simon-3D) ============ Needed Files: ============ The contents of the package are the only needed files. ============ Installation instructions: ============ Import/open the model and accompanying materials OBJ ONLY: Set up the materials using the instructions below (in case it doesn't look correct after import) OBJ ONLY: set up lighting and effects render Poser version: To install this product simply Unzip the files and:- copy the SN3020-af-hanger-tex Folder from Runtime>Textures to C:\Program Files\** \Poser #\Runtime\textures copy the SN3020-af-hanger--obj Folder from Runtime>geometries to C:\Program Files\** \Poser #\Runtime\geometries And continue this for all the folders in the runtime zip. ** this will be Curious Labs, Metacreation, e-frontier or smith Micro depending on which version of poser you have. # this will be the version number. ============ Usage Tips/Limitations: ============ The OBJ file does not come with any lighting effects. Those will need to be re-created once the file has been imported. the 3DS version does not have the hangar light glow effects, but the hangar lights are present. The MAX and Poser versions come ready to use with all lighting and effects. VUE: When VUE imports OBJ files it tends to smooth everything, even shapes with sharp angles. This can result in "pillow-like" bumps on the models where cubes should be. Disable smoothing or set the smoothing angle to be small to avoid this. Cinema: Use Riptide for importing to get the best results. Lightwave: Pbjects whose pivots are not at 0,0,0 (the turrets) end up clumped at the origin; use the OBJ version instead. OBJ: Does not come with any lighting effects or object heirarchy. Those will need to be re-created once the file has been imported. Smoothing data is not in the file: a smoothing angle of 20 works well and can be applied after importing. 3ds: Comes ready to use with all lighting and heirarchy. MAX: Comes ready to use with all lighting, effects and animations, but can only be opened in 3D Studio MAX. The hangar light glow effects are video post effects, which means that the quick render won't render them all. You need to use rendering->video post to get all effects. The materials included in the MAX version point to c:\textures\exported\ for the textures. If you wish to put the textures elsewhere you'll need to edit the materials. The units in the 3DS, MAX and OBJ files are 1.2 feet each. All renderings were produced from the included 3DS MAX and Poser versions. Background items are not contained in this package. ============ Files list ============ ..\ AFH.3ds AFH.max AFH.mtl AFH.obj ..\Documentation\ license.txt AlliedFleetsHangarPoserOBJ3DSMAXReadme.txt ..\images\ back.jpg from_railing.jpg overview.jpg poser_1_8.jpg poser_2_4.jpg poser_4_7.jpg poser_6_9.jpg side_close.jpg sub_hangar.jpg ..\runtime\geometries\SN3020-AF-Hanger-obj\ sn3020hanger.obj ..\runtime\libraries\character\SN3020-AF-Hanger\ AF Hanger.cr2 AF Hanger.png ..\runtime\textures\SN3020-AF-Hanger-tex\ sn3020-h_b_diff.jpg sn3020-h_g_diff.jpg sn3020-h_spec.jpg sn3020-hangerdoors-b.jpg sn3020-hangerdoors.jpg ..\textures\ h_bump.jpg h_ddg.jpg h_dg.jpg h_g_diff.jpg h_spec.jpg ..\UVtemplates\ doorUVs.jpg floorUVs.jpg
