With each part of this collection you get new materials, poses, props and figures. This issue brings you everything to turn the Kids 4 Toddler into an adorable Valentine-Putto. The way we sat up our collection makes it extremely versatile: Mix and match materials, add your own content (poses, clothes, hair) and create virtual sculptures that will be hard to tell from real ones! Use your Putto-renders for Valentine and Wedding and greeting cards, gift wraps, decorations, place cards and... and... the possibilities are endless! -------------------------------------- System Requirements: Poser 6 and higher, NOT supported in DAZ Studio -------------------------------------- Ownership Statement: All of the content in this package was created by Digital-Lion, SaintFox and tabala and may include derivatives of the following merchant resources: Rose Damask by Mystikel More Foliage Brushes by Mystikel Heart Brushes by Mystikel ----------------------------------------------------- Needed Files: The Kids 4 and the Toddler morph, the ++ morphs are required as well if you want to use the the full Putto Face ----------------------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: Run Winzip or another zip-program and point it your Poser directory. All files will be placed as shown below from the Filelist. Be sure to check the "Use folder names" option when unzipping and point Winzip to your Poser directory. The materials, characters, poses and props can be moved to another folder in the corresponding library but the textures and geometries must stay where they are, otherwise the materials will not work as expected. If you already own other Porcelain sets you will be asked if you want to replace files. Simply confirm this, it's just because of some textures and materials are included in every set of this series. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: This package can only be used in Poser 6 and higher. Be sure you have the latest version of Poser. If you want to use the set in Poser 5 you may encounter different results from those shown in the promotional images as P5, especially the materials may not work as desired. The premade material sets are not supported by Poser 5, please use the single materials instead. This product will not fully work in DAZ Studio as DS uses a different way to deal with materials. Some Usage tips: THE POSES: Some of the poses are slightly camp to emphasize the pose of a stylized statue. Where bodyparts touch other surfaces you will see very fine pokthroughs here and there. These are done willingly to create the perfect illusion of a solid statue. When you use hair with the figures you might want to decide for hairp-props or figures that are more or less "solid" and keep this illusion alive. As the Toddler is a scale morph of the Kids figure it tends to float above the ground when injected and it may float when poses are used. On the other hand (as we have little angels here) some of the Putto-poses are meant to let the Putto float. To be sure to have the correct position in the hand you should always use the included Zero-pose before applying a pose! THE MATERIALS: We've created one-click materials that cover The Toddler and the included props and figures with the desired material. Just choose the figure/prop you want the material on first and then browse to the apropriate material set. Additonal (single-) materials are included as well to cover everything you want in your scene with matching materials. If you add hair, clothes or other things that are not included you can match them to the choosen material for the Putto by using these single material for each material zone. Please note that not every hair or clothing will give the desired "statue effect". The simpler the surface is (in other words: The less "air" there is between the clothing or hair and V4) the more convincing is the end-result. If you are unsure what to choose have a look at photos of classic and modern statues made from metal, stone, clay, wood or porcelain. Most hair figures and props contain a skull cap or scalp material. In most cases this is set to transparent as it just "holds" the single parts of the hair. Within the materials you find one called "Transparent for hide". Use this to make this and other unwanted parts invisible. Some of the props use displacement for detail. Please be sure to always check "Use Displacement" in your rendersettings and, at least if you see artifacts (holes or black spots in the render), set the displacement bounds to at least twice as high as the value for displacement is. If you want to use different materials than those provided you should add the displacement-maps that load with the props and figures as well to keep the "sculpted look". We've added three screenshots (found in the Documentation folder, showing the Aries from the Zodia-Fire Signs set) that show you how to do this. If the displacement channel is already used by something else you can use a math node instead that combines both displacements to one. A screenshot with an example can be found in your Documentation folder under Porcelain-Displacement-settings.jpg. If you want different sayings on the banners and the heart you can easily create them with the help of the templates we've included. Just type the saying on a new layer, add a layer of solid black underneath and save everything as a grayscale jpg. Some more notes: The preview results will look different to the rendered results. Because of this we recommend to do testrenders when you change many materialzones. For optimum results we highly recommand poser's maximum rendersettings and using "texturefiltering" (P6) , "use Displacement" and "smooth polygons". THE MATERIALS ARE NO MERCHANTRESOURCES! Go to the poser materialroom, open the material library, select the materialzone of the posercontent you want to applicate the material on and apply it with a left doubleclick. Poser6 and up users only : When thumbnails collapse just open the general preferences (CTRL+K) or (menue- edit- general preferences) - go to Tab "Library" and check the box "never collapse thumbnails". From now on you will be able to see all thumbs even the library folder contains so much files :) Poser8 users only: Please remember materials will only apply correctly in poser 8 when entering the materialroom to do this. The material library shows in all other rooms too, but you will not be able to load them onto scenecontent. THE PROPS AND CHARACTERS: The Heart, the Swing-Heart and the Banners in the figure-library These figures will react on the poses. On the thumbs you can easily see for what part of the scene the pose is made. Choose the part in your scene (Toddler, Heart, Swing, Banner) that you see in dark pink and click the pose. The part will pose, slip into it's position and, if needed, it will be resized The tiny heart in the prop-library is simply a smart propped item that uses the same geometry as the big heart. It's included for your own ideas. You should use simple materials on it as the displacements will hardly show any effect on them. THE PANTY is a dynamic prop and must be fitted in the cloth room. It containes a morph that fits it to the default Putto morph. If you want to use it with the default Kids 4 shape you have to turn off the morph. Using the Panty is easy: Load the figure and inject the Putto-Morph. Load the Panty Use the animation slider and go to frame 20 Add the desired pose Go to the clothroom and click "New Simulation" Click "Cloth self-collision" in the window that pops up. Close the dialogue and go to "Clothify" Choose the Panty Click "Collide Against" and Add/Remove Choose at least the figure's abdomen, hips and thighs as a collison object, in most cases you will have to add the shins as well. If other parts of the body, the ground or anything else in the scene may touch the Panty choose these as well. Set a value of 0.5 for Collision Offset and Collision Depth Click "Okay" Everything else is already prepared for you, you do not have to care about the Cloth parameters, just check "Collision Friction", this should be checked. Using the PANTY WITH Banners and Hearts: If you want to use the panty with poses where the Putto is sitting on or leaning against one of these figures we recommend to NOT add the heart(s) or banner(s) to the collision objects as these tend to pull the pants down while the putto moves upwards into the sitting/leaning position. The dynamic pant is tight enough to not stick into the decorative objects too much and as the whole set is meant to simulate little sculptures little intersections round out the illusion. If you do not like the result anyway we recommend to use the pants or the nappy that ships with the Kids4/The Toddler and to match them to the set by using the appropriate single shaders. Using the PANTY WITH MORE THAN ONE PUTTO: If you want to render a group scene add a new Panty for each Putto and run one simulation for each Panty in the scene. As the Panty is rather low-poly the simulations will run rather fast. For one of the promotional images we used six puttos and the simulations took not more than 20 minutes for the whole scene witn an average computer - in fact less time than adding the materials to everything in the scene and applying the poses. LIGHTING: All lights you see in the thumbnails and in the promos are part of the Porcelain Zodiac series. RENDERING: We highly recommend the use of the Firefly-renderer (with the best settings your pc supports) to get the most out of this set! Don't forget to enable displacement and raytracing! You might want to experiment with enabling Gamma Correction with different settings when rendering.
