====================================================================== ************************************************************ *Yoga Studio *Copyright 25/3 2012 *By: Gustaf and Kimberly Grefberg *Contact: Renderosity sitemail ************************************************************ Yoga Studio is a complete yoga experience for your V4 (And V4 based characters) You get a full yoga studio, with separate walls for easy camera access, props, dynamic clothes, poses and background pictures. Please note that the studio and props can be used with any character, but the dynamic clothes are made for V4. The poses are also made for V4 but can probably be adjusted to work for other characters, as well. The following is included: Full room set: - Walls - Floor - Ceiling - Podium - Curtains (Open and closed) - Aum ornament Dynamic clothes (V4/A4/G4/S4) - Yoga pants - Tight top - Loose top (Can be worn over the tight top) Yoga accessories: - Flat mat - Rolled up mat - Rolled up mat in bag - Empty bag - Sand bag pillow (With sitting morph) - Half moon pillow (With sitting morph) Poses (V4) - Shavasana (Relaxation on back) - Sukhasana (Cross legged pose) on mat - Sukhasana (Cross legged pose) on pillow - Sun salute: Pranamasana?(Standing prayer pose) - Sun salute: Hasta Utthanasana (Back bend) - Sun salute: PadaHastanasana (Forward bend) - Sun salute: Ashwa Sanchalasana (Equestrian pose right leg back) - Sun salute: Ashwa Sanchalasana (Equestrian pose left leg back) - Sun salute: Ashtanga Namaskara (Eight legged pose) - Sun salute: Bhujangasana (Cobra pose) - Sun salute: Parvatasana (Mountain pose) - Two hand modes. Relaxed and Mudra (Thumb touching index finger) Backgrounds: - Countryside - Leafy - Summershrubs - Treesun - Winterdistant Materials: Different materials and color variants for room, accessories and clothing. (See promo images for more details) Many of the materials use the HSV node and may not show the final color in the preview window. (The rendered thumbnails show the correct color however) The dynamic clothes are made for V4, but will also work with A4, G4 and S4 if they are used as morphs! The simulation must start with V4 as a base character. The Room and the props will work with most poser characters! Please note that the dynamic clothes are for Poser's clothroom only and will NOT work in Daz Studio. The material files are also only intended only for poser. -------------------------------------- System Requirements: Poser 6 or higher (For the room and props) Victoria 4 by Daz3d (For the clothing and poses. A4, G4, S4 optional) -------------------------------------- --------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: Unzip the files into your poser directory. The props and clothing items can be found under props and then Whimsysmiles. The materials can be found under materials and then Whimsysmiles. The poses can be found under pose, then Whimsysmiles. The hand poses can be found uner hand, then whimsysmiles. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: ************************************************ ** ** ** THE ROOM & THE ACCESSORIES ** ** ** ************************************************ The room comes with the floor, ceiling and walls separate, so you can easily choose which ones you want in the scene. You can load them individually, or choose the !StudioComplete preset, which loads the whole room. Even if you load the whole thing, each object is still separate, so it's easy to move or hide them. Everything (In StudioComplete) is parented to the floor, so if you want to move or rotate the whole thing, do it with the floor. Please note that the curtains are not in the complete package, since they come in two variets, open and closed. If you want the curtains to follow the room when you move it, you must parent them to one of the room objects. (Wall_Windows or the floor works best.) The accessories are all loaded near your poser figure's starting pose. Moving them around is easy. Just choose the prop to move and rotate them into the position you desire. The flat yoga mat has a little bit of thickness so you may want to move the figure a little bit off the ground in your final pose, or the feet may sink down a little through it. ************************************************ ** ** ** USING THE POSES ** ** ** ************************************************ IMPORTANT! Before you load any of the poses, make sure to turn "Inverse Kinematics" off in the figure menue, and uncheck "Limits" If you don't, the poses won't look right. In order to avoid using the morphs in the poses, eyes opening or closing have been left alone, so here are some tips for using morphs the yoga poses for Vicky: - Eyes: Use her eye morphs for closed eyes in any of the poses (Especially in Shavasana or the sitting poses) - Breasts: Use the breasts up/down morphs for extreme bends, use the breast out morphs when she lays on her back. The flatten morph may be good if her thighs are close to her chest, or if she is laying on her stomach. ************************************************ ** ** ** DYNAMIC CLOTHES ** ** ** ************************************************ IMPORTANT! If you already understand Poser's clothroom, you can skip the guide below, other than one important thing, you need to have Vicky in the zero pose with her arms angled down 45 degrees! A preset pose that does this is included in the package! ************************** * Cloth Room quick start * ************************** This quick start breaks down the process into simple steps how to use the clothing in the cloth room. It is not a full poser cloth room tutorial. If you are a beginner it should be enough to get you started, and if you are a more advanced user it should help you find the right settings and some good tips. 1. Load Victoria 4. 2. On frame 1, keep her in her zero pose, without any morphs loaded. (You can have facial morphs, since they don't affect the clothing.) Make sure to have Inverse Kinematics off, found in the Figure menu. Then go to the Joint editor and choose "Zero rotations". If you have loaded Victoria fresh, you don't need to do this step. Then make sure that her arms are angled down 45 degrees! You can do this manually, or go into the poses (Whimsysmiles) folder and load the starting pose that comes with this package. This is a very important step! 3. Somewhere between frame 15-20 (Or more if you feel its needed), put Vicky in the final pose that you want. Here you can also load or apply any custom V4 morphs that you want, that alters her body one way or the other. (Including other Daz characters like Aiko 4, The Girl 4, or Stephanie 4.) The cloth simulation needs to start with Vicky zeroed in the first frame, so that the clothing can drape or stretch into the final frame. 4.(IMPORTANT!) Before you load any of the clothing props, make sure you have Vicky selected. Then load the clothing. Now, the clothing is parented to Victoria, so if you scale Victoria, the clothing is scaled as well. This can be very useful. The clothing can stretch, if you scale victoria down down in size in the starting pose, and be normal in size in the final pose. If you have loaded a pose and morphs in the final frame, there is already a keyframe here, so all you have to do is to scale victoria down a bit in the starting pose. Make sure you have victoria's BODY selected when doing this. 5. Go to "New Simulation" and set the desired amount of frames. Usually this is the same number as your final pose frame. Even though it's not necessary, setting up some drape frames, 10-15 is recommended. This will make the rest of the simulation faster, and more stable. 6. Then select "Collide against", and as collision object choose Victoria 4. You can choose her whole body, or to speed up the simulation a bit, check the ignore feet and hand collection boxes. A good collision offset value is somewhere between 0.250-0.400. Collision distance is usually good around 0.400. To keep the clothing from intersecting with the rest of the fabric, having the self collision box checked can help. If you have set any draping frames, "Start draping from zero pose" should be unchecked, or you may get very strange results! 7. In the DYNAMICS CONTROLS, you can experiment with fold resistance (and of course other values), to give the fabric some more creases, or decrease it to make the material a little bit tougher. Values between 0.5 to 3.0 are pretty good, depending on the results you are after. A low fold resistance will work well with these clothes and give very nice, detailed draping. When you have everything set up the way you like click "Calculate Simulation" For tweaking the cloth simulation, look into the sections below for some tips. - Turning hand, feet and head collisions off in the dynamic cloth calculation can speed up the process and also prevent some strange collisions when moving into some of the yoga poses. *********************************** * Using parented scale * *********************************** The clothing comes parented to Victoria 4. This means that if you move or scale her, the clothing will follow. Now, if you scale her in the starting pose, it will affect the cloth simulation. (Just make sure that she is scaled to normal/100% in your final pose) For example, if you want the clothing to stretch or fit tighter in the final pose, just scale vicky down. When you do this scaling, make sure to have Victoria's BODY selected. This is very useful if you want the clothing to fit tightly to your character. ********************************************* * Aiko 4, Stephanie 4, and The Girl 4 * ********************************************* This clothing can be used with Aiko 4, Stephanie 4, and The Girl 4, but you must use them as morphs. The initial character shape on the first frame must be Victora, then in your final frame, you can apply any morphs that turns her into these characters. It will not work well if you load any of them as stand alone figures. *********************************** * The Clothing pieces * *********************************** This package comes with two tops and a pair of pants. The pants and the tight top is intended to fit fairly close to the body. The loose top comes in two varieties, one normal sized and one XL sized. The loose top can be layered over the tight one and the pants. The pants also come in an Xtight version. This is the same version as the regular pants, but they are slightly scaled in Poser to be closer to the body. ***************************************** * Using the clothing with yoga poses * ***************************************** When you use the dynamic clothing with the yoga poses, there are some tips that may be handy to get the best results: - If you find that the character takes a very strange path between the zero pose and your final frame (Spins around a lot etc), it can help to set the keyframes in the animation graph to linear instead of spline. (If you are doing an animation, using splines after the starting pose is a different matter of course) - In tight bends, like the equestrian pose, you may get better results if you turn off collision to the chest for the pants, or the thighs for the tight top, to avoid strange collisions. *********************************** * Order of simulation * *********************************** If you are simulating more than one item, it's important to do it in the right order. The pants and the tight top should always go first, then you do the loose top, making sure you select the pants and the tight top as collision objects. This ensures they layer over each other properly. ***************** * Material Room * ***************** Applying materials is easy. Go into the material room, into the Whimsysmiles folder. Just click on a material and it's applied to all the zones. Please note that the normal and xl loose tops use different materials. Some of the materials come with the HSV node. (Hue and Saturation) This enables you to "cycle" the color of the texture, so you can get more color variations. For example, if the base material is bluegreen, increasing the hue a bit will make it blue, then purple and so on. To do this, go into the material room, and go into Advanced mode. Up at the top, you will find a box called HSV connected to the top left "Diffuse_color" section. Make sure you apply the desired changes to all the zones. Many of the materials are already done this way, but you can make more variations. Just note that extreme values can create strange, out of balance colors. Values between 0.4 to 1.8 tends to work best. In order to apply materials to the filled bag, simply click the bag and rolled mat material you wish. It has the same UV coordinates and materials as the empty bag and rolled mat. ***************** * Render tips * ***************** Make sure to render using Firedly with displacement maps on in the render options. If you think that the displacement map is too strong or too weak, you can also adjust their strength in the material room (advanced tab) Just make sure to adjust it in all the zones. It also helps to have smooth polygons on, especially for the clothing. Smooth polygons are turned off for the room parts, as they will otherwise bend and warp in the render. ************************ * General Stuff * ************************ For usage righs, refer to the Renderosity_License.txt file UV templates are included in the runtime\templates folder. The walls, ceiling and floor all use looping textures, so any seamless wood, stone or other material texture will work. The beams, wood and windowframe use special UV coordinates. Enjoy!
