************************************************************ *Product Name: Shaitan, the CaveBeast *By: ghostman, shadownet *Contact: Please contact us by Renderosity site mail ************************************************************ Product Description: (Please note this product was made using Poser 2012 and is known to work properly in that version of Poser. Daz Studio and previous versions of Poser are not directly supported. See the known issues below.) Shaitan and his kind grew up around the human cave dwellers and considered them pack-mates since they all shared the same set of caves overlooking the great grassy. For the most part, he like them, most of them, but found them a rather odd at time. They had strange ways and habits, like taking on and off their outer skin, or putting the things they killed in the fire before taking it out to eat. They chewed on grass and berries when they were ok, something his kind rarely ate except when they were feeling sick. But they were pack-mates and got along great together. His favorite human was Ooga who he had known since he was a pup. She loved to hunt and run and play like all Cave Wolves do and was very good at catching rabbit. He liked rabbit. A lot! He did not even mind when she put the rabbit in the fire and gave it to him hot, especially on cold days where it made his insides feel nice and warm while he lay in front of the campfire at her side eating all she would share with him. She was the best human ever and he was sure she found him an excellent Cave Wolf. Together they had many adventures, some of them very nearly resulting in one or both of them being killed. But through it all, they stayed pack-mates to the end and he knew she would be at his side as he would be hers, until they were both too old to hunt and had to rely upon the young pups to take care of them like they did their elders. That after all is how it should be with good pack-mates The well being of the pack always came first. Previous version of Poser and DAZ Studio are not directly supported. Please see the information below for more about known issues in previous version of Poser. Along with what DAZ Studio users should know about the MAT/texture options. ~ In previous versions of Poser the buttocks group when rotated (Bend) to pose the hind leg forward or backward has some distortion that I was not able to resolve. I will look further at this in the new year and see if i can come up with a fix. For now, however, we only support Poser 9 and 2012 because of this hind leg (buttocks) issue. Otherwise the beast works the same, it is only with a couple of the poses we provide, or a user might make, where the bend dials on the buttocks come into play. ~ Daz Studio is not directly supported. The Beast appears to pose and work fine in Daz Studio 3 and 4, with none of the bending issues on the buttocks of the hind leg as noted when tested in Poser 7 & 2010. The textures and MATs provided, however, are not set up for DS so the user would need to manually plug in the specular, displacement, and normal map for the figure body material for best render results. -------------------------------------- Good to Know, Tips and Known Issues ~ You will need to manually apply the Tailbase_LegPose_ADJ morphs in the Body group with certain tailbase poses (bend up or bend down) when the back legs (buttocks group) are rotated (bend dial) forward or backward. The ADJ morph needed is named to match the tailbase pose (up or down) and the buttocks pose (L-left or R-right, Fwd-forward, or Back). How much you need to set the ADJ morph will depend on the degree to which the leg and tail are posed. You can also go the to body part groups and find the partial body morphs (PBM) for these adjustment morphs and can fine tune your pose correction there if needed. Most of the time, however, you can manage any correction needed using the Tailbase ADJ dials in the BODY group. ~ EasyPose dials have been set up for the tongue and tail. You will find the MASTER dials for the Tail in the BODY group. However, I have found it often easier to get more precise posing by using the Bend, Side-Side, Twist, and EasyPose dials in the Tailbase body part group to get the general pose and then go to the body parts of the tail where I feel some additional posing is needed and use the dials there to fine tune and finish the pose. My posing method is similar for the tongue, except MASTER dials you will want to use for the general posing is in the Head body part group. After you get the general pose for the tongue, you can fine tune the pose if needed by using the dials in one or more of the tongue body part groups. ~ Some of the poses provided make use of built in Poser_helper morphs. Generally these are used only to help smooth out and make the pose they go to more natural since they apply morph touch ups to the figure that were created in zbrush to lend more realism to the figure pose. There may be times when you find you can use these Pose_helper morphs in a body part, but that is beyond their intended purpose. They are meant to work primarily as an aide for the Pose for which they are named. ~ Like the Pose_helper morphs, mentioned above, the JCM or joint controlled morphs have been added to the figure to help enhance and improve the overall natural appearance of the posing. Usually these dials work automatically as the pose is applied. In some rare instances the JCM between body groups may clash with extreme poses of the body parts. We did set limits, on the body parts to help prevent this, however, we also wanted to allow for the wides range of movements possible, so we were more liberal with some limbs in allowing them to pose further than what might ensure there would be no clash of JCM. We felt in the rare instances that a clash between JCM happened, the user would be able to use the JCM dials in the body part(s) to adjust and correct this as needed. So we did not hide the JCM dials so that they only worked internally inside the Cr2 but left the dials visible so that they were available should any manual adjustment be needed. Again, this should not be often as we made every effort to set the JCM up so that it would not clash when the body parts were posed in a natural and realistic manner within the joint limits we have set. ~ The Zero_All pose is designed to reset all the dials in the figure, including morph, ERC (such as EasyPose), body part rotations, etc., to a 0 value. The other utility poses are designed to zero a specific body part, such as the tongue only (includes any dials for the tongue in the figure, not just the tongue body part groups). The same is true of the Zero_Tail pose which will zero all morphs or control dials related to the tail. The Zero_HeadMorph pose will not affect the tongue dials in the head group, nor will it change the bend, side-side, or twist dial settings. It will reset the mouth and expression poses, along with the eye and ear control dials. But it does not reset any changes made to the eye or ear body part groups. Only to the control dial settings in the head for these body parts. You will need to go to the ear body part or eye body part to reset these dials, unless you apply the Zero_All which again will reset all dials in the figure to a 0 value. -------------------------------------- Files Included & Installation Instructions Unzip to runtime folder or manually place files at location shown: \Documentation\ Shaitan_the CaveBeast_readme.txt license.txt \runtime\textures\Ghostman\Shaitan\ shaitan_02.jpg shaitan_03.jpg shaitan_eye_blue.jpg shaitan_eye_red.jpg shaitan_eye_yellow.jpg shaitan_main.jpg shaitan_main_DISP.jpg shaitan_main_NRM.jpg shaitan_main_SPEC.jpg \runtime\libraries\Pose\CaveBeast\!
